Q: I am using system 4. I want to bleach my hair- will this product react poorly to bleach? (I will switch to using #6 once the bleaching is done).

Thank you for contacting Nioxin. We value your brand loyalty. The Nioxin system 4 is formulated for color treated hair. For more moisture after bleaching your hair I would recommend switching to the system 6.

Q: Does this work on woman of color hair?

I would think so. I use this and I am an African American woman with 3b, 3c, and 4a textures in my hair. I use the shampoo only and Nairobi’s stimusil conditioner. I have noticed less shedding/fall in my hair. Good luck 👍🏾

Q: Is this supposed to be used twice a day?

I really don't know since it did not come with instructions. The bottles have labels that are supposed to be able to be pulled apart to access instructions but they are stuck together. My mom, who also uses it said you are supposed to use it twice a week for a month maybe? Then once a week after that.

Q: What system should I use if I get occasional permanents?

#6 states it is for use on chemically-treated hair. HOWEVER, it is best to consult with your dermatologist and/ or hairstylist first. Also, start with a trial size first.
