Disney Tiana Classic Doll with Ring - The Princess and The Frog - 11 1/2 inch

This is the first Disney doll I bought. I'm crazy about the made to move Barbie doll's from mattel, but because of the common defects, I wanted to try a Disney doll. There was no doubt about it, I was sure about choosing Tiana. The box came a little crushed but I got the dent out. It would be easy to patch up if I would use it as a gift, but that's not the case. I read about the rubber legs and I was glad to find out it's true. The only negative thing is that my doll has a bend leg. I don't know if you can see it in my pictures. One leg is a little bit curved. I also tried to show you that you can bend the legs, the maximum is three clicks. The feet can't be moved because of the rubber legs, so there are no ankle joints and standing alone isn't possible. She has poseable arms as you can see. She can't bend her arms as far as the made to move barbies, but she still has a lot of posing abilities. I posted pictures of Tiana next to a barbie doll so you can see the differences and similarities. Her waist is tinier, her head is bigger, her fingers are more detailed. She does have a scratch/mark on her shoulder but it's not as bad as some mattel dolls I have. I don't know what her hair would look like loose, because I won't try that. I will keep the crown on her head and I think I will leave the rubber bands on her feet/shoes too. It's easier that way. I tried to switch clothes with my Barbie. As you can see, this particular dress fits nicely. Her dress also fits the Barbie, it's a bit tighter but it still closes so that's a plus. I don't really like the material of the dress. I like the long skirt but I really don't like the green pointy parts above the skirt. Overall, a very nice doll for a fair price. But I don't know if I'm crazy about her legs. For example, she can't sit elegantly because her legs don't close enough and her feet point upwards.

Great price and item. Tiana is the most underrated of all the disney princesses but she is loved in our house. The dress on this doll is beautiful, the pics don't do it justice. Quality of doll is perfect and the hair is very realistic, it hasn't gotten matted or messy like other barbie's hair tends to do. I expected a less well made doll for the price but we recieved a gem. The ring is also very cute.

This was a perfect gift! The clothes are great quality and easy to take on and off. A beautiful doll.

The box doll came in was broken.

Really cute and cheaper than the version at Disneyland. The ring “gem” popped out within a week so that was disappointing. We had the Sleeping Beauty version of this Barbie and that ring lasted until it was lost. The Barbie is great though.

Made nicely and a wonderful gift or keepsake.

You may notice a common review for six of these ethnically diverse Disney Princesses. I teach at an urban elementary school and ordered these six as a single raffle prize for a school carnival. They garnered more accumulated tickets this than for any other prize. Some little girl was VERY happy!
