EAG Front Bumper with 2 x 15W LED Light Offroad Fit for 87-06 Wrangler TJ YJ

I want others to know that the bumper works and looks very good on a TJ (I have a 2000 TJ Wrangler Sport 4.0L).I was comparing many models but EAG has a good amount of Jeep products and good reviews so I trusted them. I am VERY happy with the result, I have only gotten compliments on it so far.Installing:I ordered this in addition to a Smitty built 10k lbs winch, I installed the winch before installing the bumper (as it will be TOO tight to work on if installed).Note you will need to either remove or cut your sway bar front frame cover for this bumper to fit. It transformed the look of my Jeep and with the winch, it just looks so clean.I took the advice from others and installed new hardware, 1 inch, 1/2 ×13, grade 8 bolts (I bought these at Lowes). To be able to handle the extra weight (bumper weighs around 70lbs) plus the winch. Also its always a good idea to upgrade old bolts on these old cars.You will need at least 2 people to install the bumper - I had trouble lining up the bumper to its mount points but after some wiggling, the holes lined up PERFECTLY. It's tight fit to tighten the bolts so make sure you have a wrench instead of a socket to help you.I am still researching the adapters needed to use the OEM fog light wires as to not need to add a new switch. I will update when I have that answer.

The bumper is nice but my bumper arrived damaged, probably from shipping because the box looked rough too. However, the tabs the bumper mounts to the jeep were bent, i wasn't concerned because i can weld it back if it breaks off but it seemed like more trouble to try to send it back than to hammer it straight and put it on. finally the lights really are bad, they didn't work when i first installed them, the 2nd time only one of them worked and the pattern is very tight not what i want for a bumper mounted fog light i would recommend the bumper without lights or putting your own in that perform better. finally where the bumper bent the coating did chip off but the rest of the bumpers coating is pretty tough, its no bed liner but i can lay metal tools or set the winch on it and it actually did not scratch as bad as i though it would, in fact it hardly scratched at all.

In my opinion a great quality bumper, especially for the price point.The install was not possible with the factory T 55 bolts on my 97TJ however bought some 16 mm (I think) bolts that I could easily get a open ended wrench on to tighten down.I then slapped a 9500 pound winch on it (four bolts very easy, although needs to be installed before bumper installation to reach a couple of the bolts ) and everything seems very solid.I haven’t had to use the winch or get towed via the bumper yet, I will update this review if anything changes.

Bumper looks great and fairly straightforward install once you get new bolts, wasn’t a fan how the instructions tell you to just bend the mounting tabs to fit the holes, scarily easy to bend and it chips the paint. first drive out I was cut off and bumper sheered where it bolts to frame. Probably would have done the same with a hard winch pull or a hard knock into tree.

The bumper was just what we were looking for but maybe due to shipping it came dented and was unable to install it on my 1989 jeep wrangler. maybe I'll give them another chance.

My EAG bumper arrived on time and in excellent shape. I installed it with a winch in 2 hours. After reading other reviews I went to Lowes and purchased additional install hardware. The original top four bolts are impossible to install as you can not fit a t55 torx head over the bolt in the space provided. I purchased 4, 1 inch, 1/2 ×13, grade 8 bolts. They went in perfect and it looks great. I was able to connect the factory fog lamp wiring to the new lights. Overall this a great price for a good bumper.

Easy bolt on application using aftermarket bolts as the original T55 bolts cannot be tightened due to confined space. The led lights are a disappointment as they put out a blueish light when all my other lights are 5000k.

I love the look of this and the construction seems of high quality. My only issue was trying to bolt it on. I have and 04' Rubicon and the factory bolts were too long to use them to put it back on. Even I purchased 1/2" shorter bolts, it was still difficult based on location. There is not enough room to use a a ratchet and socket (or torque) so it was all baby steps with a wrench. Other than that, The look is great and the quality construction makes it well worth the money.
