OXO Good Grips Angled Turkey Baster with Cleaning Brush

I haven't used this item yet but my last one from a different manufacturer was very difficult to put the bulb back on the way it should have been on. As a result, while using the baster, the baster came apart from the bulb, and turkey drippings flew everywhere, even on the dog. And this was very, very hot. Thankfully, the dog is okay. This item seems to be made better than the one I had used previously.

This Turkey Baster works great for cooking any meat/ chicken, etc., that creates alot of fat/ juice. The Cleaning Brush is a wonderful for cleaning the baster, too. Thank you!

So, a couple of years ago, we offered to host Thanksgiving to take some of the load off of my mother, who is in her late 70s. One of the things that we didn't have was a turkey baster. My mom offered to bring over anything that my wife and I had not yet acquired to prepare a meal like this (including the old electric carving knife that she's been using for decades, etc.). One of those items was a turkey baster. Now... I don't know how old this thing was but I assume she's been using it for nearly as long as I have been alive, because it definitely has some miles on it, including a broken tip, and a crack the entire length of the tube. I'm honestly surprised that the bulb didn't disintegrate when I tried to squeeze it. Due to the crack and lack of seal, you need to form a particular technique and be pretty quick if you want to actually collect liquid and hold it in the baster long enough to get it above the bird. Sorry, Mom... Time to retire that old girl. She served you well, but it's time for an upgrade. The body of this, like all things OXO, has a sturdy, quality feel to it, as does the bulb. The pipe cleaner and removable tip seemed a bit much, but I reckon that the angled tip will be really useful in getting as much delicious juice from the bottom of the roasting pan as we can, to baste over that beautiful turkey and brown and crisp up that skin very nicely. P.S. It was VERY well received - a big, hearty laugh from Mom, knowing that likely she will be bringing that same baster over in future years to 'help' us prepare Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family the same way that she did all these years. Well, never quite as good, but we're trying. 😉

I love this turkey baster it works well for me. Although I use it on my turkey loaf. It is just the right size to use in my oven without burning my hands. It seems to be made very well and I use the brush to keep the baster clean. I am glad that the brush was included. It is perfect for the baster and it saved me money by coming as a set. I don’t have any problems with the baster leaking.

Da tanto tempo la cercavo e finalmente l'ho trovata e anche con lo spazzolino di pulizia. Igienica (di vetro), facilmente lavabile.

BPA freies Hartplastik mit Silikon Ballon zum Ansaugen und Abpumpen der Flüssigkeit, wird inkl. kleinem Bürstchen geliefert, das untere ENde kann man separat abmachen zum säubern. Das Teil ist größer als erwartet und macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Praktisch ist auch, dass man sieht, was man im Rohr hat (es gibt auch Bratensprtzer aus Metall). Absolut zu empfehlen.

Very nice quality. Looks good and functional. The scrub brush is a plus
