Watch Me: The instant Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller! A brand new dystopian YA fantasy romance book for 2025, set in the world of TikTok sensation Shatter Me : Mafi, Tahereh: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A compelling, well-written addition that balances romance and dystopian tension confidently. - The book is well presented, with a striking cover design and good-quality paper that feels durable in hand. The binding is solid, and the overall finish matches expectations for a major release. The story delivers a fast-paced, emotionally driven narrative that blends dystopian themes with romance effectively. Characters are expressive and easy to connect with, and the writing keeps chapters moving at a steady, engaging rhythm. Fans of the wider universe will recognise familiar tones while still getting something fresh. It holds up well over longer reading sessions, with consistent pacing and no obvious drop in quality. As a YA fantasy romance, it offers good value and strong re-read potential for genre fans. Best suited to readers who enjoy character-led dystopian stories. Review: An outstanding read! - This is one of my top three bookish worlds. This was such a gripping read that I didn't want it to end. I hope we don't have to wait long to find out what happens next. The plot is explosive, and the characters are just such an experience in themselves. This is absolutely a must-read. The level of emotions and between the lines moments is fantastic, and if you loved the first set of books, this new series will not disappoint. Focused more around James, we get to see a whole new side to the characters and the world that was previously built, all new characters, locations, and a lot more plots and secrets...

Pleasantly surprising
✶✶✶✶ / 5 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯𝔰 ꔫ So, we’re all gathered here because of Warner, right? Anyway, moving on. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like this new series as much as I did, it’s hard to stand in your own spotlight when the original spotlight is on THE Shatter Me series, but this book did a really good job. We’re back and better than ever, and reading about 30-year-old Warner healed something in me I didn’t know was broken. This book almost felt like a novella at times, though. The story is meant to be about James and Rosa, yet not much happens at the start, and it feels a bit strange to experience the resistance from Rosa’s perspective, but that also made for a genuinely interesting angle. It kind of feels like the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes of this series, without actually being a prequel, if that makes sense. Speaking of prequels, I need a story about how the Shatter Me world came together before Warner and Juliette. I know we found out a lot in the Shatter Me Series but I want a first person POV! I’d honestly be more excited for that than the next generation, sorry! Kenji was HILARIOUS, as always. I was a bit disappointed about him and you know who, but I guess it was inevitable. I also loved seeing James talk about his view of everything that happened in the Shatter Me books, and his relationship with Warner. You know what they say: a man who yearns is a man who earns, and James definitely took a leaf out of his older, blonde-haired brother’s book. I’m pleasantly surprised to say that I am so excited for the next instalment!

Good book, but glue on it
Haven’t read it yet but the book itself is in good condition. Pleased with it and the cover is very pretty. Slight damage to one corner. Only concern (and I have attached an image) is that a part of the seal on the parcel has gotten glued to the dust cover and won’t come off.

Highly recommend
Watch Me- the first installment of The New Republic trilogy. Set ten years after the fall of The Reestablishment, this novel follows two protagonists—Rosabelle Wolff, assassin haunted by loss, and James Anderson, the younger half-brother of Aaron Warner, driven by a risky mission and a need to prove himself. Watch Me invites you back into a world where love, surveillance, and resistance dangerously intertwine. It was emotional and much-needed return to places and characters I truly adored. I am not gonna lie, I hoped to read more about Arron and Juliette but T.Mafi is such an amazing author and it was really hard for me to put the book aside anyway. (Not to mention I am a big fan of strong, female characters👌). Perfectly balanced slow-burn and enemies-to-lovers, interesting characters, complex, intriguing world. If You are a fan of the Shatter Me series I highly recommend entering the New Republic chapter.

Watch Me is a spin-off of the Shatter Me series and WOW - as a huge fan of the original series it delivers all the dystopian drama, tension, and slow‑burn chaos I hoped for. Set ten years after Juliette and Warner’s rebellion, we follow James Anderson, who somehow manages to infiltrate Ark Island… even if it lands him in a prison cell first. And then there’s Rosabelle Wolff - the assassin raised under constant surveillance. Rosa is cold and guarded (for very good reasons), while James is more impulsive and open, and their dynamic is everything - messy, intense, and definitely leaning into that enemies-to-lovers energy. The whole vibe is intense, romantic, atmospheric, and full of that “who can you trust?” energy. The world feels even darker and more claustrophobic with Ark Island’s Big Brother‑style control. Themes of survival, control, and what it means to hold onto your humanity really sit at the heart of the story. Overall it is gritty, emotional, and packed with tension and chemistry. If you love dystopian romance, morally grey characters, and high-stakes slow burn, this one will absolutely pull you in

comprei internacional e achei a proteção muito fraca, só um saco de papel, ainda bem que não teve nenhuma avaria, o livro é lindo demais, eu li antes e amei tanto que quis o físico, deixa a estante linda! 💜✨️

I read the entire Shatter me series last year and it was frustrating that I had to wait since November (when I read “Believe Me”) to read the next book in this incredible dystopian universe. Every page, every chapter, every freaking damn word was brilliant, perfect, necessary. And it has felt like bring back this story that has been stuck in my mind and heart since I began it more than a year ago. “HAPPY RELEASE DAY FOR WATCH ME!” says my mind, even knowing I won’t find out how the story continues until spring 2026…
