Yehsence 1000w - Amazing Customer Service!
Review: This is part 1 of my review on the Yehsence 1000w grow light. A grow light is something that cannot be properly reviewed until one has spent a lot of time with it and used it to grow plants. I have not had time enough to do that yet so I'm only going to review the packaging and set up.The light comes very well packaged in a nondescript cardboard box. Inside, the light sits in a tight foam sheath. It arrived in mint condition just when Amazon said it would. The light feels well made. It does not give the impression of being cheap or flimsy. Indeed it's fairly heavy for it's size. It looks identical to the lights depicted on Amazon. There were no surprises at all when it came to how the product looked.Setting the light up in my grow tent was not difficult but I will say up front that you will want to buy additional adjustable hangers. It comes with one wire hanging kit and one adjustable hanger. Put the wire hangers in a junk drawer and buy three more of the adjustable kind. If you suspend the light in your tent with the wire kit alone you can't adjust the height and neither does it hang nice and square, it'll slowly rotate. I'm disturbed by anything that isn't square and symmetrical. I tried hooking the wire kit to the adjustable one they provide, but you're giving up a foot and a half of height. This means that as your plants grow taller you can't raise the light above a certain point because the wires are fairly long + the length of the adjustable hanger. Fortunately you can buy a four-pack of the adjustable, ratchet style hangers for $9.At this point I'm very encouraged by the light. I tested it on veg, bloom and veg+bloom, and it was extremely bright. The cooling fans make a soft, quiet sound. Definitely not something that is going to distract anyone. My experience is that the fan is no longer audible from more than 10 or 12 feet away. Temperature wise, like most LED lights, it's not very hot at all. You can put your hand under it and feel some heat but it's nothing like the older style HPS lights (which work very well for many applications, but are definitely more work to set up).UPDATE 1: 50% of the veg LED's have burned out after two weeks. Only one side of the panel has veg LED's. The entire panel still has red bloom LED's. I'm searching for the customer service contact info. I'm still in the seedling stage so I'm sure it's getting enough light so long as I have both switches turned on, but that won't be the case in another week or two. Very frustrated. Seems that others have had better luck, but not so in my case. Looks like I'll be scrambling to buy a handful of CFL's to augment this grow.UPDATE 2: Let it be known right now: I've never had better customer service. I e-mailed the company and they got back right away asking for some info so they could replace the grow light. They simply had me e-mail s picture of the light in its defective state and the info tag on the top of the light's chassis. Next day they e-mailed me to let me know they were shipping out a new light. Anyone who does a lot of online shopping knows it's not always that smooth.I'd also like to take a minute to say that aside from this issue, which is admittedly pretty significant, the light is still strong enough to keep my seedling happy. I simply dropped the light lower than what would normally be recommended to partially make up for the lost PPFD's. I also bought a few 17w (100w equivalent) LED daylight bulbs from the hardware store to supplement the Yehsence light until I get the replacement. All in all, this has not been a back-breaking experience at all. Kudos to Yehsence for doing such a great job.UPDATE 3- 4/10: I'd like to add that his light is also strong enough to fully veg out a plant. I'm almost five weeks into my grow and my plant loves life. The trick is to drop the light to about 18" instead of the 24" recommended by the manufacturer. Yes, I know this means the light isn't that strong and is probably only good for one or two plants max, but for a light that only draws 180w and costs $109 dollars, that is perfectly fine by me. If you want to grow 3 or 4 plants at a time then you'll want to daisy chain another one of these lights or pony up ~$500 for a more powerful grow light that draws 400w or so. When it comes to flowering time, I'll update this review again to report how well it handles that. I'll say up front that I might throw in some warm color temp 2700k LED's for additional red spectrum and park them 6" away.Update 5: I've now grown two plants and have just started my 3rd with the replacement light. I only grow one plant at a time and so the 1000w version is perfectly suitable. My first plant yielded 2.6 oz dried while my second suffered horrible nute burn at the hands of this inexperienced grower and only yielded 1.2 dry ounces but I felt lucky to get that. All in all I've very happy with this light! I'm still not an experienced enough grower yet to determine whether the light is limiting my yield if I just haven't nailed the growing process yet (watering, feeding and correct harvest time). For the beginner, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this light.

Where's The Stock?
Good combo of LEDs. Some do burn out after a few years. On my third one. Price is right, size too. Good fan cooling. Wish China would keep Amazon in Stock.

Not great quality.
I purchased three of these lights in the past year. All three of them have the same issue. The Blue light portion has quite working, just outside the return window for Amazon, so I sent an email to the manufacturer regarding the defect and getting a replacement. Have received nothing from them yet.Don't buy these lights. Spend a little more and upgrade to Quantum boards.

Excellence in every way you will not be disappointed!
This is an excellent unit to replace my 1000 watt MH/HPS lights I was using previously with! All the features listed in the product description are accurate and perform as stated.I am alter-abled and grow my own medicine and I could only afford to run one MH/HPS at a time at:18 hours a day = 18.0 kwh.Compared to this light which runs at set at Veg+Bloom :18 hours a day = 3.3 kwh. This means I can run two panels set at Veg+Bloom running together as well:18 hours a day = 6.6 kwh total power.Multiply all those numbers by "31" and have your totals for the month. Then multiply that total by your "kwh costs" to figure the monthly total. So I got a second one!!And I am going to get a third as well.It comes with a chart that shows how to hang the lights but is somewhat confusing to understand. After trial and error I found the best height above your plants is "16 inches" and raise it as the plant grows.I had it at 36" because that's what the booklet said to have it at through veg but it wasn't enough light to do the job and made the plants trunks stretch and weak until I moved them lower. Now it is performing as my 1000 watt ones did. These panels emit next to no heat so you can keep them that close with no problem! If the top leaves start turning yellow then move the light up a few inches and that should fine tune the distance.I can now run my veg cycle as long as I want since I'm not tied down to six weeks because of power costs and that's a nice plus. The only negative thing I could find with using these is there is no heat from the lights to keep your room temp up or your soil dry.I've been watering day 1, dry for 2,3, and 4, Foliar spray for 5, then nutrients again on 6.Also never leave excess water sitting in your trays under the pots wet vac the water out whatever runs through. The customer service for this product is complete, professional, and they truly care about helping you wherever they can along the line.I can guarantee any problems you find they will help you through to your satisfaction.I guarantee that through my experience.Enjoy your light and I hope you have as much fun as I am having using it.

Great initial Value... time will tell...
This light produces good color spectrums, and the individual modes are helpful to anyone who just wants an easy to use grow light. I think this light would be sufficient for 2-3 larger plants (10-15 gal pot) in an appropriate reflective or white room or tent. It puts off manageable heat. The included mounting/hanging solution is adequate but a bit low for something like a tent... it can be adapted easily, however.I would assign 5 stars across the board but it needs to last and that’s the downfall of some of these affordable lights. So far so good.
