Dr. Johannes Faust, a medieval scholar, faces a dilemma when his bargain with the devil's servant, Mephisto, sours. All Faust wanted was more power, more glory, and more appeal to lure a young Gretchen. But, in the end, in the face of his failure to love, he transcends his worldly desires to achieve immortality. This is a 30 minute visual interpretation, inspired by Goethe's Classic, "Faust part 1" with beautiful string puppets and an edgy contemporary music score.

Visually stunning
This is a beautiful piece of work that is visually stunning and progressively creative while maintaining the integrity of the story. Well thought through, directed and written. Amazing soundtrack. I love the silent film feel.We watched this as part of a series for Faust for a school assignment for my 7th grade.I wish we would have purchased it as opposed to renting. This is a keeper. Check out the director’s Don Quixote for the same brilliant re-telling.

Faust Puppet Theater
Odd little film using marionettes. Music tended to detract from the piece. If you are interested in puppet theater, you'll like this. Film is short in length; marionettes are well operated.

This is a great series for teachers
This is a part of the Classics in Miniature series produced to give the viewer a taste of a classic story using puppets. Puppets are exquisite. This is a great series for teachers. I highly recommend it.
