Quilting 101: Master Basic Skills and Techniques Easily through Step-by-Step Instruction

This book is just what I was looking for. I'm a beginning quilter and I needed a book with a lot of basic instructions and examples. The book goes through the very basics from fabric prep, measuring, cutting, pinning, basting,etc. with precise and detailed instructions. The pictures are perfect and I have found answers to all the questions I had about quilting. I haven't tried the DVD yet but if it's even half as good as the book it will be a treasure.The book takes you start to finish on 16 projects and shows several variations for each one. It has patterns for each project at the back on the book.It's and great reference that I'm sure I'll use often.

I'm brand new to quilting and using a sewing machine, and I love how this book takes everything waaay back to basics, starting with inserting the needle in the machine. There are little quilting projects that each teach you something important about quilting, like making a Christmas stocking or checkerboard place mats. I do think I might get more out of the print book than the kindle version, and the kindle book didn't come with a DVD like the print version does. But I'm excited about everything I have to learn ahead of me, and Quilting 101 makes it sound (relatively) simple.

Great book easy to use has everything I need to finish my project

A few months ago I just started quilting. Took a wonderful class with a great instructor. However, I still wanted to know learn more. I looked through the quilting section and looked up books. The book had a high star rating. I bought it used and it came in great condition. The book is easy to follow.

The book itself will probably be a good tool. I am just learning how to quilt. However,the DVD that came with the book is stuck to the inside sleeve. I may try to contact the manufacturer.I don't know if that will get me anywhere. As I said,though,the book has a lot of good info that I will use in my adventure to learn how to quilt.

Item is as described by seller. It is in wonderful condition. An essential book for your quilting library. Step by step instruction are clear and make sense. Following the steps is clear and simple. The end result of following the steps and instructions is a successful creation of your first tenth or hundredth quilt, craft item etc.

Great book with good starting projects. The problem is the patterns included are not to size in the Kindle edition and there is no description regarding the size it should be so you have to go to ridiculous lengths to print the pattern and then try to size it. I'm working on the holiday coasters now. The patterns in the Kindle edition do not include the numbers, so I'm not sure how I'm going to do this project. Obviously there was no thought put into creating a Kindle edition of this book.

Easy to read.

I have only breezed through the book so far but what I have seen it is very tutorial.

I received the book today and have already thumbed through it. I like the layout and the many photos, narrative seems straightforward and easily understood. I was hoping for more on squaring up a block and overall quilt but only one small mention.Also, I was so looking forward to the companion videos. I can’t find them; I’ve searched by book name, Quarto Publishing, Creative Publishing International and other book selling sites but no luck.PUBLISHER, please add link to videos to the Amazon product description.

From the perspective of a novice quilter, this is a great book in terms of color pictures and clear directions and explanations.
