Am I reading this correctly? Is it 6 bags of 8.8 oz of coffee for $19.70?

I don't think so. This is expensive coffe and one pack usually cost that much. But I would try to buy 6 pack for that price and if it'll arrive as a 6 pack, then good for you! In any case whether you'll receive one pack for $20 which its regular price or 6 pack which is awesome, you won't loose. This coffee is superb.

How many bags of coffee

They’re smallish—c. 9 oz, 250 g. In 2008 I rented a Paris apartment for a couple of months, the Euro exchange rate was high, and Carte Noire was the least expensive coffee at the local Monoprix supermarket. (You can pay more, but you can’t pay less.) Flavor is okay, not spectacular.
