Powerful and Versatile Welder – Perfect for Both TIG and MMA Welding.
I recently invested in the HITBOX TIG Welder 200A, and it has quickly become my go-to machine for a variety of welding projects. The 2-in-1 functionality, supporting both TIG and MMA welding, makes this unit incredibly versatile for different metals and tasks. The high-frequency (HF) start is smooth and reliable, which makes striking the arc easier and reduces contamination on the welds. I’ve used it on steel and stainless steel with excellent results—the welds are clean and precise, showing great penetration and minimal spatter. Operating at 240V gives it plenty of power for heavier-duty work, and the machine is surprisingly user-friendly, even for those still gaining confidence in TIG welding. The build quality feels solid, and the controls are intuitive, allowing me to fine-tune settings quickly. Overall, the HITBOX TIG Welder 200A offers professional-level performance at a very reasonable price. Whether you’re a hobbyist or a professional welder, I highly recommend this machine for its power, precision, and versatility. Reasonably Priced. 5 Stars ✨ & Recommended. My Star Rating: ★★★★★ | No brainer - Top product. Not only do I like it, but it’s well worth it, IMHO ★★★★☆ | Like it - Great product and value for money. I'm happy with this. ★★★☆☆ | OK - Product is average. Nothing wrong, but I’d probably be looking for a sale ★★☆☆☆ | Hmmm… - Not worth the price, functional but nothing better than mediocre ★☆☆☆☆ | Avoid - Very Poor Quality item not fit for purpose. I wouldn’t buy it at any price.

Magic numbers
On the face of it, we have a great kit for those wishing to have a go at welding. I used to weld a long time ago and the price of wood is too expensive, so I'm getting back into it. They give you everything the welder needs but you still need to buy your own personal protection. The torch cable is plenty long enough for domestic use (4M). Easy to use, it's all pretty obvious apart from the gas time being labelled as 'S'. Reading through other reviews, you can see there has previously been electrical issues and I can see why. Hobby welders exist and they're intended for the home but they aren't rated at 200A. That said, you can go to plenty of other retailers who do sell these portable welders, rated at 200A but the key difference is....they don't put a UK 13A plug on them! Because 13A isn't enough, they simply pass the onus onto the buyer to sort out the supply. Now, with this Hitbox welder, they've put a 13A plug on it and previously had to put a 'nail' across the fuse. It's not the first time I've come across that method either. I've opened up the fuse compartment on this and there's now a 13A fuse made by Da Wei. Is it 13A though? If so, how have the previous issues been addressed? You can plug a device that takes >13A into a 13A socket but you aren't supposed to. The fuse protects the downstream side, so your socket and cabling is protected by the fuseboard but if you have other items plugged in at the same time as when you are welding, expect to have to perform a trip reset occasionally. It's a neat and compact welder that works. It welds, as it should - nothing spectacular. The quality on the whole, is pretty good. The knobs do pulls off but beside that, it's pretty solid inside and out. The price yo-yo's a lot, but it stings when this is a lot cheaper across the pond. If you wish to buy it, I would advise fitting a proper 32A socket on a separate circuit to the rest of the house. I find it difficult to trust the manufacturer given the figures that are thrown around in the manual, on the casing and on the Amazon product description You could always play safer and get a lower rated welder that's more suitable for domestic wiring and use.

I’ve been welding for years, but I recently needed a versatile, lightweight machine for a home project, and the HITBOX TIG Welder has exceeded my expectations. First off, the non-contact arc initiation system is a game-changer. Starting the weld is so smooth, and I’ve noticed significantly less wear on my tungsten rods compared to my old setup. The welds are incredibly clean, with no spatter, which saves me so much time on post-weld cleanup. I used this machine for a stainless-steel railing project for my porch. I was working with thinner material and worried about overheating or messy welds, but this welder handled it beautifully. The 200 amps of power gave me precise control for TIG welding, and switching to the stick welding mode was perfect for the thicker brackets I had to attach. The Hot Start and Anti-Stick functions are lifesavers, especially for someone like me who switches between materials a lot. Another feature I love is the post gas function. I set it to 5 seconds, which was enough to keep the welds shielded and cooled down the torch nicely. It made a noticeable difference in the quality of my final welds and prevented any damage to my accessories. Finally, the portability is fantastic. At just 12 pounds, I was able to carry it around the house and even out to the backyard without breaking a sweat. The built-in safety features like overcurrent and overheating protection gave me peace of mind while using it for long periods. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced welder, this machine is an excellent investment. It’s easy to use, versatile, and produces professional results. Highly recommend it!

THIS IS NOT I REPEAT NOT AN AC TIG MACHINE!!!!!!! I had thought I hit the jackpot when I was doing my research and everything on the Hitbox TIG200. Everything said that it was ac capable and could TIG weld aluminum. Seeing it was only $120 I jumped on it and was super excited. I have a MiG welder with a spool gun for aluminum but isn’t capable of ac TIG. But the welder performs and functions well. It’s not the welders fault that someone put false and/or misleading information about it. I’m going to keep it regardless.
