A Way of Being Free

This was a gift to an ex of mine who was a writer. I purchased this to motivate and reignite his writing passion. I was no longer his muse, lol, but still loved him enough to want what was good for him. It worked! Kind of pricey, being an import but worth every penny!

This is the third Okri book I have read and like the previous two I found it very thought provoking. Some passages were so gripping that I posted excerpts on FB for my friends.

This book was purchased for someone that survived sexual and emotional abuse and is a now a counselor. The message from the book helped the individual too move on in a positive direction.

I have been a fan of Magical Realism for a long time but I have yet to encounter someone who's gentleness on the seams where the real touches and fuses with the magic is as delicate as Ben Okri's. This non-fiction piece on the significance of the poet in modern societies across the world is a shining light of inspiration in a world where the "darkness around us is deep".

I love this book with all my heart 💖

Okri's thoughts about creativity are poetically expressed. He is quite analytical and tries tap into the core from whence creativity springs. It isa book full of hope.
