Russell Hobbs 23210 Luna Boil Electric Kettle, Stainless Steel, 3000 W, 1.7 Litre, Red

We had a cheap supermarket brand kettle which lasted a number of years but started leaking recently.Replaced with this RH Luna Quiet Boil in a nice Red and very happy.Rinsed them out first 2 times to flush out any smells and there is no plasticky smell or anything anymore.Internals are stainless steel but there is a level indicator and the side indicator which are plastic (former can be removed but you cannot remove the side levels obviously).It boils fairly quickly and is slightly less noisier than our previous one but you would not notice any difference unless you went looking for it. A bit pricey for a kettle but paid more for the Red finish as we preferred it and hope it lasts!There is an extra year of warranty on registering the kettle (instructions in the box) - off to register it now!

I was a bit worried that the red colour would be a bit garish but it actually adds a nice splash of colour to my kitchen, and looks stylish. The lid opening mechanism is very smooth and the markers inside the kettle are very helpful to see how much water to put in. You can boil as little as one mug of water. It is fast and quiet. I bought it because it was a Which Best Buy and it lived up to it's rating. Great value for money.

PRO: 1. Pours really well. 2. Lovely and different looker - square top, round bottom. 3. Takes up less space on worktop than previous kettle. 4. Fairly quick to boil.CON: 1. Noisy! Especially considering it's claim to fame is 75% LESS noise. We usually boil for 2 and 3 people. Once it is boiling the noise level is fine...but getting there you need to raise your voice to be heard 3 feet away!2. It's had circa 10 boils on top of the recommended for cleaning it and hubby says there is still a taste. I cannot taste anything so obviously down to how good or bad your taste buds are!Overall though we do recommend this product for the pouring and having something pretty to see in the kitchen!

This kettle is excellent in all details.Perfect balance when pouring with a perfect designed spout that gives an anti splash water stream.Very easy to fill up with water due to a perfect lid opening and closing design.Very clear observational window to show the water level and when boiling.A very pleasant cosmetic appearance on any kitchen surface top.Very quiet in operation and a very fast boiling time.Absolutely Excellent

I was a little sceptical about some of the negative reviews of this kettle, but as it was a Which Best Buy decided to buy it. Added bonus was that it colour matched our Asda toaster!! Some customers commented on the foul taste when they made drinks, but I wonder if they read the manual before they did this. As is so often the case, you are meant to boil the kettle full of water before you use it, and the manual indeed says this. After boiling a full kettle twice, the first mug of tea we made tasted very slightly of plastic, but since then there been no problem. The kettle boils quickly, is very quiet, and pours well.

This kettle is the best pouring kettle I've ever had! It's not silent when heating, but it is definitely quieter than our previous one and quick to boil. I love the red colour! We had no issues at all with an unpleasant taste.

Arrived promptly through Prime at a good price (£30.99). Great kettle so far - several months use to date.Love the colour (Red) and boils very quickly. Best of all is the fact that, whereas our previous kettle did a fairly good impression of a Jumbo Jet passing over the house, the Luna is just so incredibly quiet! You can easily carry on a normal conversation (in the same area) while it boils. I've even had to check to make sure I'd switched it on at times!Genuinely can't praise it enough, easily best we've ever owned. Price had been raised since bought to nearly £50, now 'reduced' back down to price we paid. Good time to buy, I would suggest. Highly recommended!!!

Having bought and used many kettles during my 40+ years of adult life I have often been left totally bemused. The human race has managed to achieve absolute miracles of science and technology but in my experience has failed to achieve something so simple as producing a more than decent kettle that combines all the basic requirements in one package ... until now! Finally, a kettle that boils quickly, that boils quietly, that has good and easy visibility of contents, is eco-friendly, easy to grip, fill, and pour, comes in a variety of colours, and is available at a decent price. Finally my quest is ended and I am content, but I am still left bemused. Why has it taken so long!?!
