Excelent, lightweight utility.
I am a big fan of light but sturdy hardware, I am a happy user of the Axis brand of aluminum stands. I simply don't need to be carrying around hardware that weighs 2x the weight of my drums and cymbals. This snare stand is one of the series of aluminum stands just released by Yamaha. It is very well built, everything is fitted, and everything works as intended. And it is 35% lighter than its steel counterpart. I use this stand for my practice pad. But should I need to replace my kit hardware I would do so with this new line of stands. Great execution Yahama.

Yamaha hit a home run with this innovative design. These stands look odd, but they work great and "lighten the load" unbelievably!

When your hubby is a drummer
There's no end to what you can gift a drummer. New, lighter, better, cooler stuff comes out all the time. This isn't as light as he thought it would be, but it's lighter than his old one. Maybe someone will invent a lighter one by next Christmas.

Bought all the Yamaha stands and hi-hat stands along with snare stand……all together they weigh as much as 1 hi-hat stand
