Great docking station and a great value!
At our office we have a few users who useĀ Dell Latitude D630 14.1-Inch Notebook . Unfortunately, laptops are an ergonomics nightmare and aren't really the most comfortable computing solution. That's where these Dell docking stations come into the picture. Instead of craning your neck all day over a laptop with a small keyboard and trackpad, you can just plop your laptop on the dock and use a monitor, keyboard, and mouse just like a real desktop. These docks are incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is connect it to power and the peripherals you want to use. This may include a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and things like a network connection. Then, when you come into the office, you just snap your laptop onto the dock. Since Dell laptops are meant for these docks, everything is taken care of automatically. The laptop will automatically enable the external peripherals and will be ready to work! When leaving the office, just turn the laptop off (or use the Safely Remove option) and push the eject button to pop the laptop off of the dock. For what these docks cost, they're well worth it. We keep our employees safe and healthy while increasing productivity. I highly recommend a docking station to any laptop user and these Dell docks are some of the best I've seen!

It's great but it may have a short
Overall I am happy with this purchase. I like the idea of docking my laptop and having all the wires plugged in to the dock, rather than fiddling with wires. I also have a KVM setup that is connected too so it works out well. There does appear to be a short in the product. At first I thought perhaps the product was not working but I realized you have to jiggle it. Thinking that it might be my laptop, I plugged in a compatible laptop that belongs to a friend and found the same issue.Truthfully, I use the laptop more as a desktop so it is something I can live with. I purchased this reconditioned product dirt cheap, at least 1/10th of what it would cost new.If you are sick of having wiring sticking out everywhere, the dock will be beneficial to you.

Works well
I got this for a Dell Latitude D530 I picked up to use at work. Sadly I can't use a personal computer on the company's wireless network, and I discovered the laptop's ethernet port does not work. My solution was to buy this unit and use it's ethernet port instead, I am happy to say it works as I hoped. This unit gives you some good options such as 3 video out options so you can connect it to a tv or a bigger monitor, modem port, ethernet port, mouse and keyboard port, headset/speaker output, and 5 usb ports (which is handy since 2 of the laptop's ports are blocked when plugged into this unit). My only suggestion is if you buy this, order an extra power cord for the laptop. This unit is powered by the laptop's power cord. My plan is to have 1 cord dedicated to this unit left at work all the time, and the spare cord will go in the laptop bag so the laptop is still portable without always having to unplug the docking port and take that wire.

Works Like a Charm at an Unbelievable Price
I use a Dell laptop at work and wanted to setup dual monitors for more working space. However, I also needed to move around our campus frequently throughout the day. Constantly connecting and disconnecting cables was a real frustration. The Dell PR01X port replicator was exactly what I needed. I have permanently attached all of my cables (monitor, network, keyboard and mouse) and now just pop the laptop on and off as needed. The port replicator even adds a couple additional USB ports, although they will not power/charge connected peripherals unless the laptop itself is in place (I left my phone plugged in while I was in an all-day meeting and found that it hadn't charged at all while I was away with the laptop). This item shipped quickly and securely in perfect working order with no cosmetic flaws. It looks and performs like a brand-new unit that would have cost many many times as much. If you have a Dell laptop that will work with this replicator, it's a no-brainer convenience/productivity booster.

Dell Pro1x d/Port replicator
Does what I need - bypasses a bad electrical connection in the PC. Good value for the money. And it is nice not to have to pull out all the connections when I move the computer.Update - about 3 weeks after I got the Dell Pro 1 it no longer works. I get a message on the screen that says that the device does not recognize the power adapter. I bought the power adapter separately from another vendor. I don't know if the power adapter stopped functioning or if the Dell Pro 1 stopped functioning or if both died; both are now just taking up space in my desk drawer.

Nice
I brought this item as a used/ like new product,(to me it looks new) I had a different type of this docking station but it died, some places I looked it said this port replicator would not work for my D630 and when I searched dell site, they kept sending me to the type I already had, so I got this anyway... then I found in my docs for the laptop it uses both types... so note if you have any D- family laptop this will work... I wanted this product because all power comes through it for everything (laptop, hubs, and other devices) while also charging the battery. My other dock is the expansion version which allow charging of a spare battery and another module bay, but the size limit it from being mobile, but this is on the light-weight side for traveling. It allows multi- devices to be connected. A very handy product...

Easy to use!!!
After my Dell Latitude D600 Stopped charging. I needed something to jumpstart and charge it. I was scared to buy this worrying it wouldn't fit but also because half my motherboard is burned out. I put it in a right away it started charging! I was so happy to get my old laptop back. It charged and I was able to use all the ports on the dock that had been damadged on the laptop. My neighbors had the same charging and motherboard problem so if you have this problem this is a great way to get your laptop back! I was going to buy a $1000 laptop but instead I spent $15 on this!!! Buy it used it's worth the money getting it used for $200 less!
