I considered $30 a bit on the pricey side for a basic headlamp but this is worth it!I did a fair amount of research to settle on this model and I'll lay out my reasoning.1. Simple switch that also has multiple functions if you want to use them. It can simply be turned ON and then OFF if that's all you need, but it also has 5 different brightness modes as well as a strobe, the instructions clearly describe how to use these features. I much prefer this over a multiposition or multi-click switch can be confusing and take multiple presses to simply turn off.2. Common rechargeable battery, the 18650. I have used the headlamp for hours without it dying yet but if I ever need to replace or upgrade, these batteries are extremely plentiful and cheap.3. Micro-USB charging port with sealed retractable cover is a pretty brilliant design. It is totally waterproof, I have even used it in a river.4. Additional stuff: Light weight, easy to adjust angle, recessed button won't be accidentally turned on, tough aluminium housingWould definitely buy again, considering getting a second one actually.Update- After 8 months of hard use, part of the headlamp band retainer broke off. I contacted the company and they immediately sent out a new headlamp free of charge! Overall I'm still very satisfied with the headlamp and the company has displayed excellent customer service.Update #2- the replacement headlamp band retainer broke as well, and it also failed and often times it won't take a charge properly, the charging light stays red forever. Overall I'm still moderately satisfied with it because I got a lot of use out of it, but they have some issues they need to work on.

I ordered two for night kayaking use. The light is extremely bright.The unit ships with the batteries wrapped and inside the light. The batteries do arrive charged, so you have to open the battery compartment, unwrap the battery, then put the battery back in. The light will light up when plugged into a USB port or charger without a battery installed or electrically connected. Worse, the end-cap on one of the units is fussy; it's a copper coil which electrically connects the end of the batter to the case, which grounds the outer case, completing the circuit. Except when it doesn't, and your only indication is that the light won't turn on unless it's plugged in.Fix the problem with the end cap being fussy and not making a proper electrical connection to the battery, and I'd give it a higher rating.

It is a very good LED light solution for our dog walking in the dark evening. I bought it and with a trouble to light it on, after contacted to seller, got the 2nd one shipped to me. However I had same problem to light it on, after discuss it with seller and found out that I did not FIRMLY turn the battery lid on. After I turned the lid firmly on, and both LED lights worked perfectly. Really appreciate the good customer support, especially it is a perfect solution for our dog walking.

Very bright light. After the initial charge I left the light on for an hour + to see what would happen. When I came back it was still shinning brightly. I'll be buying another for sure.

Flickers after 3 months. It doesn't bother me too much. But It is really bright for only using one 18650 battery. And i work at knight, i pretty much use it for about 8 hours with out having to charge it. Of course it's not on the entire 8 hours. But its turned on for like 40 minutes and then off for about 10, on for 20m, off for 5m. On for 1h 30m, off for 10m. That sort of operation. I would definitely buy another one, but hope they fix the flicker. Has regular setting, super bright, lite setting, and dim setting, flashing setting. Which I never use. Lol. They battery they sent us quality too.

I'm a commercial electrician and I got this as a replacement for an Energizer headlamp that used AAA batteries. As far as the energizer went, it did it's job but it died fast and was expensive to keep alive. I've only had this for a week and I love it so far. Rechargeable battery is a what I was looking for and feels better built than the Energizer too. If this ever fails I'll edit the review to let others know how long it lasted but with how well built it feels I don't think it will be any time soon.Update: More than a year later and it's still holding up strong. The only thing that broke was the little bracket that holds it onto the strap but it's reasonable that broke considering how high and how many times it was dropped. I just ended up ziptying the light to the bracket and it works fine. If it ever breaks I will buy another for sure

It's perfect for walking my dog at "night" in winter time. Battery seems lasting long enough. Feel little uncomfort.

Bright, built solid and feels rugged enough to use every day. Battery is 2400mAh which will get you about 2 hours of runtime on turbo. If you buy a higher mAh cell then you can increase your run times. I like the quick 2 step light output or you can press and hold for additional light levels. Kelvin on this light is about 5500k in color temp. It has a nice spill that useable and the hot spot is nice too which was showing easy over 100 feet. This would be great for bikers, campers, walkers and cave dwellers/seekers! This is a very nice quality product. Tested it in a variety of situations and it did very well. Hats off to UniLite of China!
