OrbitBrass 3/4" Water Hose Repair Fix - Garden Hoses Mender w/Clamp - 58143N

Anyone not giving this product a 5 star review probably hasn't repaired many -- if any -- hoses lately. The connectors provided at the big box stores are supposedly good to repair both 5/8" and 3/4" hoses. Anyone who has bought these plastic and/or brass coated connectors know that they are too tight for the 5/6" hose and too loose for the 3/4" hose. These are brass and are the right size to make a proper repair.The repair is simply done and can save you from throwing out 50-100 feet of old hosing -- or can be used to effectively connect two shorter hoses to reach farther than before. Slide one clamp on the end of one of the hoses and the other clamp on the second one. Coat the brass part of the connectors to be inserted into the hoses with a light coat of PVC cement. I also coat the end of the cut hoses with the same light coat of cement. Insert one end into the first hose and tap it in place with a rubber mallet. Then insert the opposite end into the second hose and tap it home also. Slide each clamp up underneath the end of each hose and tighten the clamp with the provided screw. That should do it!These are a bit more expensive than what you may have bought locally before, but these are the right size to properly mend or connect 3/4" hoses. Considering the fact that you don't have to waste time and money to drive to the big box store, and then drive back again because the connectors you bought didn't work properly, having Amazon deliver them right to your door saves you time and stress.

I had no trouble installing this, and so far it hasn't leaked. I didn't use any adhesive or anything - just slid both ends on the connector and tightened the clamps. Be aware that 3/4" refers to the interior hose diameter, not the exterior one. This is for a big hose. They make a smaller version for the more common 5/8" hose. Some hose menders claim to fit both sizes, but I find that very difficult to believe. I have attached a picture. I ended up wrapping it in duct tape after the picture was taken because another reviewer claimed the exposed metal can cut you. I will try to think of a more permanent covering.Every hose mender seems to have negative reviews, so it's hard to pick one. I’m updating this review now after almost two years to say that it’s still working and I’m still satisfied with it.

I have a 100ft. Garden hose that sprang two leaks about 1ft from each other. I didn't really want the expense of buying another hose so I did some research on how to fix it. I ordered this product and I worked perfectly. I cut out the bad section and used the clamp to put it back together. It's not technically a 100ft hose anymore but I'm very happy with it. No more leaks..

These fitting are among the best available.Made of solid brass, so it's going to last much longer than the hose.The hose clamps hold well.I've repair a 200 ft section of hose and pulled the hose from a stand pipe where I had it connected, anyone who has pulled a section of rubber hose that long knows how heavy it is.I have never had one of these repair jobs come apart.So, don't worry about the product, just put it together right, and you're good to go.

Have to wait for my 3/4 hose to fail before can give an accurate review. The 5/8 fittings fixed my other hose with ease. Just remember to put tightener over hose before inserting mender fitting in hose :-)

Well made high quality and heavy duty. Properly fits 3/4 inch hose, and comes with the required hose clamps. This is NOT the same junk that is sold in the big box home improvement stores. I would buy it again.While not a reflection on the product, the delivery of this article took FOREVER. Way too long. Amazon is falling down on their primary advantage and selling point... quick delivery.
