The Gig Bag Book of Bass Scales

I am just learning to play the bass guitar so I thought this book would be useful for learning the various Major and Minor chords. Oh my goodness!! I was completely out of my depth with this book. I am sure it is a great resource for an experienced and musically highly literate player, but way beyond me. You could buy it to impress your friends though.
