Very glad to have found this cookbook!
This is an incredibly detailed and well thought out cook book! I especially love how detailed the canning and freezing portions are in this cook book! If wanting to start baking sourdough or refine your skills, this is a great resource as well. You can tell that Glenda is a cook well practiced in her art form! The pictures are beautiful! I LOVE that she separated the fuels making it very easy to used this cookbook when following Trim Healthy Mama!My only complaint is that the spiral binding is not bent or anything at the ends, so it starts to come off the book very easily. Just in shipping, it had unwound itself 4 holes and continued to unwind through the first night during perusal. I super glued a portion of rubber band to mine to stop this.A caution: if you are dairy free or gluten free and not comfotable with substituting ingredients yet, this might not be the best first stop for you, BUT once you are used to substitutions definitely buy this cookbook!!

Glucose friendly guide to cooking like my great grandma!
This cookbook is great! So many recipes and wonderful advice for cooking and baking the way our great grandmothers did. It's like having my sweet grandmother on speed dial! Glenda explains every step thoroughly and in an easy to understand, straight forward manner. You won't be second guessing your ability to cook and bake after you purchase this great cookbook.

Good source of THM recipes
Great resource for THM recipes, but I find that these are mixed in with many off plan recipes as well, so you need to know your stuff. Also I have found several typos. All in all, excellent cookbook for seasoned cooks.

Not just for the table...
Though Ms. Coleman's book is written for families, I have found it to be an excellent classroom resource as well. Steps ahead of most "idea-a-day" books, the questions posed are both thought provoking and timely. Many universal themes are addressed, promoting lively discussion for all ages. Parents, teachers and students alike will find AROUND THE FAMILY TABLE a perennial favorite.
