Eastern Encounters: Four Centuries of Paintings and Manuscripts from the Indian Subcontinent

As one might expect from the Royal Collection, this is the most beautifully produced book; the illustrations are superb. My particular interests lie in the area of Indian miniature painting and I was more than satisfied - but there is so much more. It's also noteworthy because of the excellent descriptions attached to the illustrations. Highly recommended - just lie back and drink in the beauty.
