I got these to use with a collapsible insulated lunch cooler while on a long train trip (> 24 hours). I performed a test at home, indoors at typical 70F room temperature: I packed four of these frozen bricks into my cooler to keep a couple of pre-chilled sodas cold. Whereas other ice packs (Blue Ice, etc.) only lasted 18 - 20 hours, these Thermosafe FPP18 bricks kept my drinks chilled below 50F for a full 30 hours! They would be great also for keeping sandwiches, yogurt, etc., cold or to keep medicine at refrigerator temperature. If you were using an adequate number of them outdoors in summer heat, they might only last 8 - 10 hours. Even so, they'd definitely get you through a picnic or tailgate party.These bricks are about half the thickness (and volume) of the big Blue Ice Weekender packs, so you just have to remember to use two of these for every standard pack you normally carry. The compact size (8" x 5.5" x 0.75") is perfect as it would fit in just about any size cooler or ice chest. Plus, they keep temperatures cold right up until the last few hours of use. Awesome! I highly recommend these high-tech Thermosafe foam bricks in any size offered.
