Just What We Need... WHEN Used With Liners; Don’t Agree It’s a Seat
We ordered this for a little sailboat we’re fixing up. There are no “facilities,” just a tiny cabin down below with cushioned bench seats for sleeping and a narrow, unused space in the bow of the boat. Still, we’d like to occasionally be able to sail down the coast and “camp out” on board for an overnight or sail out for a few hours with confidence. In tight quarters we can afford neither smells nor spills. So, we purchased liners with special pads that are often used in caregiving. They biodegrade under appropriate conditions, “contain things" (converting them to solids, sort of), control odors near perfectly, and each one can be easily tied off afterwards by the user, deposited in a sealed container and replaced with a fresh one for the next use. With those this toilet is a perfect solution for our small space (once we install a privacy curtain and hand sanitizer, of course). Some people might find this a tad short, but it’s good for our needs. It feels stable and has more of a regular seat than some portable toilets but is lightweight (didn’t expect heavy duty for the price point), so I’d still be cautious as with any product like this about tipping (and we don’t trust the description of it serving as an extra seat with the lid closed... I’m petite but felt the lid sort of buckle when I tested sitting down on it). Not sure if we’ll use the wire t.p. holder that comes with it as I think unless the roll is really full it’ll spin too freely, but I could see how it might be convenient for some. Not everyone’s ideal, and I wouldn’t like the unpleasant task of emptying the inside “pail” after multiple uses plus don’t think the little lid for the pail would do much to contain odors, as it’s not airtight or anything, but with good quality liners, it’s simple, clean and ideal for us.

Convenient and well made
I bought this for my daughter who has Crohn’s disease, but has only one bathroom in her house. This along with a Campla Portable pop up dressing tent give her a second bathroom. This is a good size and isn’t cheaply made like many of them are. You can use any size bags in it if you don’t want to empty the bucket. We prefer the bags. Highly recommended for anyone who needs an additional toilet in their house or on the road.

One of the best purchases I have ever made for my fiancé
Update:Hey everyone I wanted to give a update on this review and its that this product is still really sturdy even after all this time. Still a wonderful purchase, the smells still stay out.I got this portable because my fiancé is a wheelchair user and my basement is the only accessible entrance and doesn’t have a bathroom. When she comes over she uses it and so do I. It is convenient and very sturdy. At first when I got it I thought this is going to fall over but it has sturdy material. I am going to give future buyers some tips. Buy trash bags from target and put them in the pail they give you. Its easy clean up and you can put everything in the trash. We have a huge trash bin for our trash days in our garage. I take some febreeze and air freshener and spray it. Honestly, the cover they give you for this toilet does keep the smell out. Another tip is the longer you leave the waste, the more it smells. We have used febreeze only once or twice and we have had some bad stomach days. The smell and orders aren’t very strong when the pail cover is on and also using scented trash bags help. I was able to fit this toilet in my basement closet with a shower chair next to it. Its easy to carry and very lightweight. I would suggest buying a carry bag for it. I use big trash bags because I haven’t been able to find a carry bag yet. Overall one of my best purchases I got for her and it made it easier when she's at my house.Lastly, it comes with a toilet paper holder but we don’t use it. Also it is open at the bottom but the pail doesn’t leak anything so you’re good. I put a car rug I got from the dollar store underneath just in case any leakage but that hasn't happened yet. As far as cleaning the toilet, I just use lysol wipes and wipe it down like any other toilet.

Bought some waste bags with the absorbent pads included
Just as I had imagined by the picture. Ridgid, can hold my weight and I'm about 265. Just the right size for storage awaiting that moment where nature calls at the most inconvenient of times in the semi. Bought some waste bags with the absorbent pads included. Not going to make it a mainstay, but perfect for an emergency. Simple and exactly what I was looking for and priced well! Thanks to the manufacturer for this throne!

Looks, feel like a regular toilet.
Looks sturdy and, well... inviting. Ooks and feels like a regular toilet, except lightweight and shifts around. Would be great if they hollowed out the base and gave you a hole to put sand in it like backyard umbrella bases do. Haven't had the chance to use it yet. No instructions, but you really don't need them, except for this mystery extra piece of plastic that came with it. Anyone have any ideas where this goes or what this does? I'm stumped.

Nice but it is actually 20" long at the base
I bought this but had to return it as it did not fit the space I had. The base is actually 20" from the front to back which is longer than the published measurements in the description. It is nice looking. The lid is not strong enough to sit on when closed in my opinion.

you get what you pay for
work good no instruction manual for setting up the pee diverter or how much wood shavings to add could use a manual but with a little trial and error will have it all figured out soon

Stable Base
Relatively low cost solution for two senior campers who prefer not to leave the tent at night! to dewater.Wouldn't want to use it for #2, but if really urgent... any port or pot will do!
