This watch is automatic or not?

It's not automatic (ie self winding); it's battery powered with a quartz movement. Mine has kept excellent time only gaining 1/2 second during my first two weeks of ownership.

Do these have a screw down crown?

Yes. it does have a screw down crown. I have had my watch for about 6 months now, and I love it. Keeps great time, comfortable feel, looks great. You won't be disappointed!
