AOC U27G4R Review: A Mixed Bag
I recently purchased the AOC U27G4R, and while the picture quality is excellent, my experience with this monitor has been marred by some frustrating issues. The main problem I've encountered is the monitor's slow wake-up time. It takes an inordinate amount of time to turn on and display an image, which can be annoying when you're trying to get started with your work or gaming session. To make matters worse, the monitor frequently fails to wake up at all, requiring me to turn it off and on again just to get it to display a picture. After researching online, I discovered that other users have reported they have firmware version 1.02. However, when I contacted AOC support, they flat-out denied that firmware 1.02 exists, leaving me wondering if it was just a myth. As my monitor came with firmware 1.01, I had hoped that a new firmware update would address the slow wake-up issue. Unfortunately, it seems that's not an option. Given the hassle and expense of returning the monitor as defective, I decided to keep it and accept Amazon's offer of a partial refund. While I'm disappointed in AOC's response to this issue, I didn't want to deal with the headache of sending it back. Update: I ended up sending it back anyway as it annoyed me too much.

DO NOT BUY - FAULTY PRODUCT
The AOC Gaming U27G4R - 27 inch UHD 4K Monitor is a poorly designed, faulty product. I used this monitor with my work desktop, as an extension monitor for my laptop, and as a monitor for my PlayStation 5. For each use, the Dial Point (the cross in the center of the screen) kept popping up, and was impossible to permanently switch off, causing an inescapable distraction - especially when it periodically kept flashing. The dial point would appear. I would then turn it off using the buttons on the underside of the monitor (these buttons were faulty from day one: sometimes they wouldn't register as being pressed so nothing would happen; sometimes the down arrow key would register as being continuously pressed down, making it impossible to navigate the menu) And then a moment later, the dial point would appear again even though I set it to "off" (when then menu would work right, which was only about 10% of the time.) No amount of driver installation, replacement HDMI / Display Port 1.4 cables, and on and off again resets would fix this issue with the dial point or the menu buttons. I have submitted my refund for this poorly designed, faulty product. Save yourself my stress - DO NOT BUY.

useless
useless utter trash. really. avoid at all cost. display port not working, resolution switching is unstable, many times gets to no signal, not syncronised with the pc settings so switching on the monitor requires separately switching in the windows settings. screen keeps flickering and switching to black screen from time to time. completely unusable. i would give it zero stars if i could
