Not a Chinese style cleaver
I have been using the cleaver almost daily for the last 6 months so I thought I would write a review. The cleaver is extremely lightweight, sharp and fairly easy to clean. I use it as a bench scraper and to smash garlic and it holds up well (not recommended). The problem is it is very thin and the blade can chip easily. Def not your all-purpose Chinese style cleaver that can take the abuse of chopping or cutting through chicken bones. It can only be used for slicing and cutting. Just for your reference, larger fruits like melon/ pineapple work perfectly but it would be extremely difficult to cut open a pumpkin. I should add that the indentation on the knife does not make it non-stick. The blade gets dull after a while so I use a manual pull through knife sharpener. It is more convenient for daily maintenance as a home chef. But of course I'm aware it may not be the best for the knife and whetstones would be a much better option. Overall I enjoy it because it is inexpensive, lightweight and great for long hour kitchen work. Will need a different knife for other purposes other than slicing and cutting. Hope this helps!

自重が結構あるため力を入れなくてもよく切れます。 特に何枚も重ねた薄切り豚バラやベーコンなど、今までは脂で滑って重ねた肉が斜めることが多かったのですが、この包丁にしてからはスッと下まで刃がおりて気持ちいいやら怖いやら。 でも下準備の時短は確実

Das Messer ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Keine scharfen Kanten am polierten Messerrücken. Das Messer ist sehr gut ausbalanciert. Die Schneide könnte aus der Box ein wenig schärfer sein. Nach einer Schärfung auf einem Whetstone ist die Schneide nun sehr scharf und durch die harte Klinge bisher sehr lange scharf geblieben. Tolles Messer für den Preis mit der bekannten Kai-Qualität.

Pues al final es un producto de calidad el acero que usa Daido 1k6,parece bueno ya vere como se comporta con mis piedras miyabi,se trabaja bien y es muy divertido cortando verdura,por 56 euros creo que es el mejor cuchillo chino que e visto en amazon,lo recomiendo

With a large family, buying cut meat was getting expensive. I was using a larger knife to cut my own meat, but my carpal tunnel was acting up. I got this and cutting through slabs of meat has made my life easier and my wrists have been given a break. It has even cut through pork bones much easier than my large kitchen knife. Size was good, not too large for me to handle.
