As others mention, these aren't grounded (a wide and a narrow plug), the plug isn't made of a stiff metal and will deform into an S-shape when you push into a UL-approved plug. These ARE NOT UL-approved, these are likely made outside the country and have likely not been inspected to even be safe in your home. They do what they're supposed to, but based on their quality, I don't trust them to not short out and start a fire. If this doesn't prevent you from spending your money on these, know that additional concern for shorting out lies in the fact that there are 8 light modes; when you plug them in, they neither always relight in the mode you previously selected nor in "mode 1"...they haphazardly begin in one of the 8 light modes, which defies the physics of secure and safe electronics. DO NOT RISK LIVES AND PROPERTY TO SAVE MONEY.

 These LEDs are gorgeous, but it doesn't make up for the fact that they simply don't stay plugged in. As someone else mentioned, the plug is made of two thin, same-size pieces of metal (unlike the standard plugs with thicker metal and two differently sized prongs).The connection is extremely loose and it will not stay plugged into any type of socket. I had to tape it down just to get it to stay plugged in. If I have to go to measures like that, I consider the product to be extremely poor quality. **Update: also to note that they don't remember the setting like all of my other multi-function lights. So every time they are powered on they reset..The lights are pretty and I love the multi-function. It would be really good if they invested a little more money to make them better quality, even if they charged a bit more. It's better that than the possible safety hazard these could pose. (I'm using the plug-in model not the battery powered) The plug-in model uses a plug I've only seen on a US Adapter in India (and since these are packaged with "Happy Diwali" maybe they were meant for India? :) both of the metal plugs are the same size, thin flat cheap metal, not like our standard one larger plug, it doesn't stay plugged into a standard US socket properly it's a very loose connection and they just slip out, I will have to secure it into the extension cord. I'm concerned based on the appearance of quality they will not last, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now and will update my review after the season.

I like the 7 settings for the lights that's pretty cool and it covers a fair distance. And the lights are nice they don't break easy and don't get super hot. The only thing I don't like about these lights is that the extension cord cable wires are a little thin especially at the base that was my biggest worry when I got them but they have worked great but I try not to touch things to do I don't trust the quality that I might break it that is the little box that goes to the outlet the boxes the buttons to change the settings overall that's why I could have a review rather than the four or five it's good and cheap ☺

These lights do not work great for decorating your house for Christmas.. At least your roof. When setting the sequence, if you unplug it, it doesn't stay on the one you select, and forget trying to get them all on the same one. Half-way through the season the lights stopped working. I took them down this past weekend, all of them were rusting and some of them even broke at the plug. I would not buy this products again. It was a waste of a lot of money as I threw them away after 1/2 of a season of use. (I had to unplug them before Christmas since half of them worked and the other half didn't).

I used these for a gift for a new born as a night light. The lights stopped working so I checked the electric panel to see the were soldered badly and when I try to fix it I got electrocuted go ahead. Go ahead and spend the extra money on better lights looks like I got to order some new ones.

great led lights with many different settings. only disappointment was one did not work...which isn't bad for 100 lights and too much trouble to return for just one
