double it please
So yummy. Only one complaint. One of each flavor is NOT enough.

More Anpan please!
Love Anpan, my grandmother used to buy them fresh for me at the market. A couple of flavors individually wrapped in the package. Can't wait to try them all. My favorite has always been the sesame.

What in the HELL is everybody else tasting? 🤮
The Amazon Shopping app keeps bothering me to review this thing (BTW, I need to turn off those notifications), so FINE I will... These Are TERRIBLE!!! The high scores and good reviews honestly shock me, because what I taste is certainly not something I'd expect most Americans to like and couldn't suggest to anybody I know personally. It has good reviews, it is a product competing with other similar products, and the marketing suggest high quality packaging along with images of a family enjoying the treat, meaning this product has a good budget and potentially a fanbase and I JUST DON'T GET IT because this is arguably the worst food item from Amazon that I ever put in my mouth - and I regularly buy alot of random snacks. A pie-ish, cake-ish sort of "treat" that on it's own is completely unfamiliar and hard to compare to anything I can think of, yet, is honestly simple enough to tell you what makes it up - basically a pancake-like dough made thick with a powdery, ingredient-based flavor filling that sometimes has a matching topping. The "breading", pancake part is perfectly fine, but the filling is a sweet, but gross powdery, kinda gritty dried paste that is completely unappetizing. I had plans of saving the "best flavors for last" with the red bean and coffee, but the pumpkin and black sesame ones I had were so terrible, I'm afraid to touch them. I have no previous familiarity with "Anpan" - I simply saw a new-to-me and interesting snack item on Amazon as I typically like to try random food items I've never had before and I decided to give it ago, figuring red bean might be the best since that is a beloved flavor in Japan and I've enjoyed Red Bean Mochi and Boston Baked Beans candy before. The fresh baked versions I now see in Google Images result looks like something I'd at least try, but eating these has significantly shot down my curiosity of wanting to try it. I know the rating of 1 star could seem hyperbolic and maybe it is - the pancake/dough part is perfectly fine - good even, but there's no way in hell I'm going to peel it off to eat separately from the disgusting filling. One star represents just how bad these were to me as a whole. I can't imagine the other flavor's being better, because I don't recall the "pumpkin-ness" or "seasame-ness" being the problem. The problem was the sickly-sweet filling with an unappetizing mouth-feel. While I'm a person who doesn't always agree with "mainstream normies" taste, I often understand how some foods are liked or disliked, so I get why some food brands are popular. This could simply be a case difference in cultural tastes - a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich is a popular treat-like snack in The States, but is considered pretty strange in Japan, making Anpan seem like it is the reverse. Anectodally, one Western-based Youtuber in China mentioned how he loved Buffalo Wings from the US, but practically no Chinese person he's ever offered them to liked them because they were too sour - The Chinese "numbing spice" kind of spicy, is very different from the American "hot sauce" kind of spicy. These are the kind of bad that I can't even begin think of how I'd resell these, so the most I can do is drop them off at the "Community snack" table at work or just dump them.

So good!
These were so good, wish they came in bigger sizes. With a home of three, two of each flavor wasn't enough. But we made it work!

Amazing but filling has grainy texture
They are all amazing but with the filling being red bean base it does have a grainy texture

Delicious and satisfying!
These are a bit pricey but I had a red bean cake with my tea this morning and it was satisfyingly worth it! I was worried the cakes might be stale, but the taste and texture were quite similar to what I’d buy at the store right in Japan down the street where I lived. That cake shell reminds me a bit of American Fig Newtons but without the sandy crumbliness you get with FrankenFood. The red bean paste hits the spot for my sweet tooth without being sickeningly sweet. The cakes are small but a perfect little treat with a cup of tea. I’d purchase again. They come in a nice gift box, but be aware that because they are sealed individually and so well for retaining freshness, you’ll probably need scissors to cut open each pack. ETA: If you’re worried about sugar, know that each cake contains a lot of it even if they are not overly sweet. These are best as a treat to occasionally elevate your tea or coffee time if you have sugar at all. Hope that helps.
