Game Changer for Home Brew
Over the years we've slowly evolved from terrible drip coffee to single serve pod coffee to pod-based espresso. Mostly because the footprint of those machines was small and they could be easily purchased/replaced for a couple hundred dollars. And they do a great job of producing a 30 second cup of coffee on the way out the door. But to enjoy a really good cup of coffee in the evening or on weekend mornings, we wanted something better without making trips to the coffee shop. Enter the Rivelia. We've used this machine for about 3 months and couldn't be more pleased. We've always had good experience with De'Longhi kitchen products and the Rivelia is no different. We are still learning about beans and grind settings and all espresso-related fine tuning, but out of the box, the coffee from the Rivelia is spectacular. And I've generally brewed 10 to 12 ounce cups of coffee, so I never thought I would enjoy a one ounce cup of espresso. I was wrong. Just the taste and aroma of freshly ground beans makes all the difference. The Rivelia offers multi user settings and a slew of one touch drink options. You can easily customize the size and strength of any beverage. And I was never a cold coffee person, but the wife is. And the cold brew drinks are really good as well. Is super automatic the way to go? Yes. While I'm sure I would appreciate the taste and refinement of all the various options of a manual espresso machine -- I have no desire to spend the time measuring, grinding, tamping, frothing, cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning. If you're in the camp of wanting a great cup of coffee/espresso that may be just a notch below barista level without all of the work and hassle, then this machine is what you're looking for. The grind setting is easily adjusted based on your bean type and desired courseness. The pucks created by the machine are comparable to what you see from manual machines. The automatic frother works perfectly and the froth is adjusted from creamy to dense with a turn of the dial. You can also keep milk in the container and just put it in the fridge to use again later. Easy. It also comes with two bean hoppers so you can easily switch between coffee types. After much research, I like the bean hopper option versus the machines that just have you pour beans into the top of the machine. Much more user friendly. Cleaning and maintenance was our biggest concern. As previously mentioned, we didn't want to spend half an hour cleaning up after each cup of coffee. Good news is, we don't. The machine virtually cleans itself. It runs a warming and rinse cycle when the machine is turned on and it runs a rinse cycle when the machine is turned off. It also quickly rinses the milk frother before removing for storage. And when the frother needs to be cleaned, just put all of the parts in the dishwasher. The machine alerts when the coffee grounds tray needs to be emptied. Just dump in the trash (or compost), rinse off and you're ready to go again. About once a month the infuser needs to be cleaned, which takes about 30 seconds to run under warm water and then let dry. As an aside, we had a small issue with one of the machine attachments. We contacted De'Longhi customer service and they resolved it for us immediately. I'm sure other super automatic machines are great and there are pros and cons to each, but we are very happy with Rivelia and would absolutely buy this machine again. Highly recommended.

Great and easy espresso machine
We upgraded our home coffee experience with this machine a few months ago. We love it. I like espresso drinks with oatmilk foam, my spouse likes black coffee. It took some practice to set the drink preferences but once we did we both have a favorite go to coffee. There are several other options and we continue to explore different types of coffee drinks. The machine is easy to setup and operate by following the prompts. The screen is easy to read and provides instructions to maintain. I like the two hoppers. We use one for regular and one for decaf. We also purchased a small frothing pitcher to keep under the machine to catch water from when it runs a cycle to heat up at start or flushes water at shutdown. It is just easier though the drip pan is sufficient for this well. It does take a few minutes to brew a latte but you can walk away while it is brewing. There are several features to personalize grind and strength but once we found what we like we have not made many adjustments. We created a profile for guests who want to tailor their coffee preferences without changing ours. It's expensive but for us probably worth it as we are finding we prefer our coffee drinks over going out for coffee.

Weak Espresso
I was used to a Breville espresso machine that brewed nice STRONG espresso. The only reason I switched to this Delonghi was because it was fully automatic and does everything for you with no mess and I liked that idea - no tamping no having to figure out how much coffee to put in there etc. but I could never get a strong enough espresso out of this thing. I tried many different beans and different settings. It just resulted in very weak coffee every time. When I bumped the settings all the way up to “strong” and turned the grind level down, the espresso would barely drip out and take forever, but I couldn’t get any crème with that. Or sometimes the computer in it tells you to change the settings because it thinks it will be too strong. For the price I needed to love this machine - and I just didn’t. I couldn’t get the same quality taste that my Breville produced. So I bought the new Breville Barista Touch Impress and I am in love with that machine! Strong coffee and no thinking required.

Wonderful espresso machine
I’ve had this espresso machine for a while now and am very pleased with it. I had sifted through so many other machines but decided on this one primarily due to the ease of swapping out bean hoppers. It’s easy to use and the customizable profiles are a game changer; it even allows you to set the brew intensity. The machine is not very loud and is a breeze to change the grind. The descaling process is super easy, I purchased solution from Amazon. I have no regrets buying this.

De'Longi Rivelia
Thoroughly impressed with the Revelia Espresso Machine. It's easy to use and clean. You set up, up to 4 profiles and adjust the strength and sized of each coffee based on personal preference. Having the ability to use several hoppers for different types of coffee was the selling point for me. My wife uses decaf and I use regular and decaf dark roast. The coffee comes out hot with lots of creme. The grinder is a little loud but you get use to it. Compared to other machines of this caliber it was well worth the money. The easy to read display reminds you to clean the used grinds and to clean the milk container. I would recommend this to any coffee aficionado.

So far, five stars. This machine is beautiful. The design is so well thought out. The learning curve on the interface couldn't be easier. It's a big "WOW" over the Philips 5500 that I bought and returned. I fiddled around with the settings and haven't quite found my right taste yet, but I just got it today so will continue to fine tune grind and amounts and hopefully get it set up perfectly to my liking.

Bought this machine after our daughter shared a few recipes from her machine over Christmas. Being seniors we were a bit worried about setup and use of this machine. We did not have any problems setting up the machine or our user profiles. We are very fussy (coffee snobs actually) about our freshly ground drip coffee flavour that we were used to for 30 years this led to concern about this machine being able to meet our expectations for flavour. Rest assured this machines coffee recipe exceeded our expectations by multiples for flavour from our favourite bean. Also having fun exploring all of other recipes with decaf beans for an afternoon treat. Cappuccinos was all we knew how make. Now we can make an impressive lineup of recipes because of this machine’s capabilities.

I just recieved my new Rivelia. This is my 2nd attempt at Delonghi. Three months ago, I had purchased a Dinamica Plus through Amazon. That machine had to be returned after 1 week because of a defective pump. After 3 months of attempts to get refunded, because it was sold through Amazon by a non-authorized seller, I finally got a refund last week. I then took another chance with Delonghi and ordered the Rivelia. I read good reviews and so I trusted the product. The product was delivered by ASL Distribution. Although I was supposed to sign for this package, it was left on my front porch and the delivery was made at 3:30 in the morning. That's 3:30am!!! No signature required apparently. But on to the problem with the machine: When I started it for the first time, it stopped just before the first rinse and told me to empty the grounds tray in order to proceed. I did that, even though there were no grounds to empty since I just started up the machine. But after reinserting the tray, the message persisted and the machine would not move on to the next step. It displayed that I had to make sure that the side door was closed and that the grounds tray was reinserted. I checked both these things about 100 times, tried removing and reinserting the brew group, etc. Nothing worked. It would not go past this screen. I went on the Delonghi website to see if there was a fix, but they don't even have that listed as a problem, so no help there. I searched the Internet for a fix to this and apparently it is a manufacturing defect with the grounds tray not sitting correctly on some Rivelia machines that causes this. The YouTube solution was to fold up a small piece of paper and place it under the tray before reiserting it into the machine. Trial and error, they say. SInce I purchased a brand new machine, I don't want to have to start modifying it with strange gadget-fixes to get it to work! I will contact Delonghi CS tomorrow (since today is Sunday) and hope that they can send me either a new part or a new machine! My trust and confidence in Delonghi is far from good right now. I really want to like this machine and the Delonghi product line, but problem after problem does not inspire that.
