Excellent quality and ease of use
Super durability and a nice storage box so that the blade does not go dull in between uses. I like the fact that you can both have a curved or a straight option for the razor blade when scoring the bread. Easy to clean and storage is a breeze. Handle size is excellent and very sturdy. Also very safe to put on the razor blades carefully. Would buy again if neededโฆ I already purchased a year ago and then purchased this one as an extra gift for a family member. Price could be a little better.....

Sturdy feel, great function, curved/straight blade. Lets this noob score bread like a pro!
LOVE this Lame! It works exactly like it should, but also has a strong and sturdy feel to it. The blade can be put in straight or curved, and it has a nice solid lock in detents that hold the blade firm. Overall the weigh, shape, and size make it super easy to use and brought my bread making game up a few levels. If you can only have one lame to use, this would be it!

Really good, with some room for improvement
As others are saying, this is a very high quality product and I think it will be around and still beautiful long after I'm gone. It's my first lame, so I can't compare it to others, but it definitely is sturdy and gets the job done. I have some minor complaints about it, where I think it could be improved: 1) The plastic storage box it came in is incredibly flimsy, and even though there is an arrow indicating that you should slide the lid off horizontally and little guides/indentations on the sides as though that is the only way to open it, it's so thin that the lid can simply be pulled straight off (upwards, not sliding it) and it kind of falls off when handled. I wouldn't trust this box to stay together if I was going to pack it for travel. Compared to the lame which is so beautiful and sturdy, the box is wimpy, unprotective, and low quality (although the foam insert is nice). 2) Occasionally, I feel like the screw-on cap that holds the blade in place is in the way. Depending on the angle of your work, it might poke into your dough. This wouldn't be an issue with a traditional lame. Mostly it's not an issue, but it could be, depending on what you are doing, especially because it's sticking out on the side of the curve, which means it's always pointing down at your dough. 3) I do wish that the handle had some sculpting so that it's not just totally smooth and potentially slippery. It would be nice if there was something to grip, like some indentations for your fingers (think toothbrush handle).

Best bread lame I have ever bought. It is sharp and just the right thickness. Great price too.

Superb

This bread lame has truly elevated my bread-baking experience. The precision and ease of use with the included blades have made scoring dough a breeze. Sturdy, high quality, durable
This lame is very sturdy. It has a solid, evenly weighted (ergonomic) feel when you hold it. The lame comes in a safety case, where it is nestled in a foam bed. The case has a sleeve style sliding lid. It can't possibly fall out, even if you drop the case. The whole case is then placed in a simple cardboard box with the manufacturer's name on the cover. I keep it right near where I do most of my bread scoring. I love that it also comes with a supply of blades to replace the one that is already affixed to it. It is attached by screw at the central point, with two bumps to align with the holes in the flat surface of the blade, for stability. It is easy to rotate the blade to expose the opposite corners' edges. You simply curve the opposing corners upwards, creating a U shape, then rotate it and let it go back to its former position, only having been turned 180 degrees. The lame is well worth its cost. You're not just buying a lame. You're buying a scoring system. As long as single edge razor blades are made, this lame will hold up to the rigors of artisan bread scoring!

Decent Lame, Made in China
It is a Lame, it cuts bread so it works as it should. That being said I bought this as it was a "small American business", however when the box came it was made in China. It seems like an okay Lame but I prefer to support American Made, not just "based in America" items and no where on the Amazon page does it say where it is made only that the Manufacturer is Baker of Seville, which can't be true if it is manufactured in China.

Invaluable tool for bread making
I had been using sharp knives to score my bread, but I struggled to get clean cuts. I decided to move on when I started making so much more bread while working from home. I looked at the various lames on offer and selected this one due to the positive reviews. I'm really glad I did. This is a solid piece. It fits the hand nicely, and You immediately get the sense that it was well made and will last. It's clever in how it easily switches from a straight blade to a curved one. And the fact that you can replace with any retail razor blade is great. (It comes with three total, do you shouldn't need a new one for a while.). It feels good in the hand,n though it is a little heavy and cold. Nice storage box too, which holds the extra blades and protects your hands from accidentally touching the razor. And it works so well, makes it so easy to score bread. Beautiful.
