A high quality TV, but...
My first time experiencing 4K, 120Hz, and HDR. Or at least I believe it is. It's definitely a welcome upgrade to what I used to have. Though now that I've experienced it I do believe that I could've settled for the Bravia 8. For my personal purposes that is. I only really game and watch some shows on Netflix and other apps. Still a really nice TV overall and easy to setup, but maybe wait until the price drops a bit more if you're really set on this TV.

the oled tv gold standard has arrived at amazon
keep your hands off the screen!! oled tv screens are very fragile.the back side of tv is where you grab the tv. this is the new gold standard in oled tv's. you will not be disappointed with the color this delivers..the reviews from others have a common thread in the satisfaction they have with this tv.forget the rest just get the best.

Hits all the marks
Great picture, bright and the colors are vibrant..Sound seemed good too, but I use a separate audio system added a few days after delivery. Sony definitely improved their setting menus and simplified the remote as well. I added Amazon delivery services who unboxed and placed the TV in my desired room. Worth the extra charge

Premium Television
I needed to get a handle on the Google TV operating system before writing a review as I've not any prior experience with it, and ultimately, at least for my app usage on a smart TV, it is a giant part of how I would rate any smart TV. --but I'll get back to that. The television arrived delivered carefully, and packaged in a very protected manner. Like any 65-inch television, this is a big, heavy box. Unpacking, and reading through the instructions while looking at the accessories, it was very simple to get set up. I opted to use the legs on a TV stand, because to hang it, I would want professionals involved. I plugged into my existing surround sound system via e-arc HDMI 2.1 cable and immediately everything sounded superb. However I did test just the television's speaker, and I really felt that was impressive sound on its own for a television speaker.Back to the operating system, Google TV. For our use, we mostly use streaming apps and our own server. It took some time getting used to a new operating system but ultimately it wasn't much different than using an Android device to set up the same apps, except there's no touch screen, obviously. I would rate the different tv OS systems in the following order of ease of use: Roku, AppleTV, Google TV, Fire TV, in my humble opinion. There is good app availability for Google TV, but some of the features we are used to from Apple TV and Roku aren't there. Though, I suppose we could always just add a box if it becomes an issue.Streaming was without delay. The resolution and field of colors was really quite impressive, as so was the screen brightness. I was very happy with both the picture and sound quality for watching television and movies. It was a premium experience.I am not a big gamer, but a friend brought and X-Box X over to really test things out with. This is where the high refresh rate got a chance to shine. I don't have a keen enough eye to notice such things while watching a film. But in game, when the screen is responding to your hands, you can feel how 120Hz is superior to 60Hz in every way. Combined with the amazing brightness and color spectrum, it was obvious that this television was probably the nicest we've ever had.It is also the most expensive television we've ever had. I'm hopeful that it will last us many years. I have other Sony products that lasted many years, so I'm quite hopeful. All in all, the only negative is the Google tied in operating system, but die hard Google heads will probably love that. It is truly a subjective thing, but it just isn't my favorite. Other than that, everything about this television is amazing. This is a premium television and a really pleasant viewing experience. It looks and sounds great, which is what we all want from our TVs.

New King?
Sony BRAVIA 8 II 65-Inch QD OLED TV, Google TV, XR AI Processor, 120Hz Refresh, PS5 Optimized. Lets get right to it. The 8 Mark II is the best tv I have ever tested. That goes all the way back to 1988 when I bought a Mitsubishi 26" stereo with my own money. I have tested over 30 tvs in that time. All of the brands Mit, Sony, RCA, Sharp ETC. I am not going to hit you with a bunch of technobabble. There are many reviews that get way down in the weeds. I am just a regular person who LOVES tv. I have a PS5 and Series X. I have over 5000 pieces of media. LaserDisc to 4K and everting in between. The color the Mark II puts out is jaw dropping! A 4k disc will bring a tear to your eye played through this TV. It has several different picture modes. Modes for gaming , movies ETC. There is a quick bright mode. This is the brightest picture I have ever seen! I didn't even know a flat screen could get that bright. I love it!! Mark II gets an A+ on pictureThe sound without a soundbar is incredible! As in you don't need a soundbar at all. But if you are looking at a TV like this you most likely have a soundbar. A+ on soundThe HDMI inputs (4) is were there is some interesting choices. Two of them are 2.0b. The other two are 2.1. HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 inputs support 4K/120Hz and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). That is great. But all should be. I can not knock this down to far. You are getting 4 HDMI inputs. There are also two USB ports. I have never seen two on a tv before. Love that too. Then there is an optical input and Ethernet port as well. For inputs I give it and A.Does size matter? At 55" and 65" I know some people will fly right over this TV. I have two other tvs that are both 85". I still think for most people 65" will be fine. Most of my family live in the 55" to 65" zone. So I don't think the Mark II should loose points for this. Sizes A+.Do you game? I have my series X and PS5 hooked up to the Mark II. The tv does favor the PS5. No matter what is going on , if the PS5 gets turned on the Mark II stops everything and goes to that port. No so for the Series X. Both machines look fantastic on the Mark II. Again , best I have ever seen. Zero lag!. There is also a quick "gaming" calibration picture setting. Gaming gets an A+Smart tv? The Mark II has all the apps you would expect. It runs Google TV. The interface is "Snappy" . I have never liked the "smart" features on tvs. They are slow and wonky. I just use one of the game systems for apps. The Mark II gets another A+ on "Smart" features.Lets talk about weight so a minute. The Mark II is on the heavy side. Instead of a wall mount I went centerweight stand. It is working well for my setup. I do have a small doubt if I made the right move there. If your going to hang the tv don't cheep out on the wall mount. No grade for this.Lastly , the price. As of this review the Mark II is $4000. This is the high end of tvs for normal people. The 55" is $3500. You need to ask yourself ," do I need the best of the best"? Right now this Tv is cutting edge. It's a Sony. If you have the cash I would argue there is NO BETTER TV on the market. Until they put microchips in our brain, this is perfection. I love this tv. I am saving up to get one.Highest recommendation!
