Coffee Bean Direct Jamaican Blue Mountain Style, Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag

I love the authentic taste of the coffee. It’s just like being in Jamaica! Everything is great, Caffeine content, aroma, color. The cost has really gone up and that is concerning to, I suspect is is the tariffs and that I don’t like!

Blue Mt. Jamaican is ridiculously costly-this tastes like it and the 5 lb bag is a bargain. I am a coffee snob but I have a line which I won’t cross to enjoy a good brew! Love the smell and flavor of the Jamaican type coffee Update: I did really enjoy this initially, however, it has lost its flavor and no longer tastes the same-disappointing!!

Delicious, and for the type of coffee it is, a great price. Will definitely be buying this again.

I don't know what it is about Coffee Bean Direct. Their coffee can be so phenomenal, or it can be totally hit or miss, and this can change between batches they roast. The java gods must've been smiling on me, because I got a great batch of their Blue Mountain Style blend, and I swear, it's the best coffee I've had in two years! It's so smooth, so mellow, so flavorful, it actually has a nodding acquaintance to Blue Mountain coffee. No kidding. I'm halfway through the bag, and I really don't want to try any other. So I'm taking a chance and investing in another 5 lb. bag. We'll see if this new bag lives up to its predecessor. Meanwhile, I thoroughly recommend this coffee. If you luck out and get a good batch, believe me, you'll be sold!

I bought the Jamaican Blue Mountain Style coffee (which isn't Jamaican Blue Mountain - they do state that clearly - but tries to imitate it). I've had a blend with real Jamaican Blue Mountain before (mixed with other beans to enhance the flavor - and lower the cost), and was hoping for something that heavenly again. This wasn't it. It makes a good cup of coffee, maybe even above average. If they weren't comparing it to Jamaican Blue Mountain, I might even call it great...maybe. I can't tell by looking if beans are old or stale, as some people have said in other comments - but the expiration on the bag was over a year out, which is usually a good sign. There wasn't much aroma when I opened the bag, and the freshly ground and brewed coffee doesn't have a lot of aroma, either. I re-bagged the beans into smaller containers, so hopefully the last cup I brew will be nearly as good as the first - but 5 pounds is a lot of coffee. It makes the price affordable, though, so that keeps it from being a bust - under $9/lb for good coffee is acceptable. All things being equal, though, one day I'm going to splurge on real Jamaican Blue Mountain again. Until then...I might give this another try if the price is right. It's certainly drinkable, just not outstanding. Maybe this weekend I'll see if french press (rather than the quality drip coffeemaker I'm using) can get more out of it.

I have been ordering this coffee direct for several years and have wanted to order through Amazon for the faster shipping. I was hesitant to do so because a few reviews said the beans were not fresh. My order arrived today and I am VERY pleased! The beans were VERY fresh and the best part was I did not have to wait a week to get them! This is a very smooth, mild, non-acidic coffee, so it is not for the folks who like a stronger coffee. If you have ever enjoyed the true Jamaican Blue Mountain beans, but can't afford the high price, these beans are for you! This is a product I will add to "subscribe" and $ave even more for GREAT coffee beans!

This product is supposed to be in the style of Jamaican Blue Coffee, however I most definetely is not. The coffee brews up very weak. I even tried using 3 tablespoons per 8 oz, and that did not improve the taste. I would definetly avoid this product. As for me, this was my first try with Coffeebeandirect so it will probably be my last. What a waste.

The name should have been a red flag. It’s not awful exactly. I’d say meh. It does not stand up to other genuine Blue Mountain brands though. The smooth, rich flavor and aroma isn’t there. Instead it’s somewhat harsh and cream and or sugar is needed to tone it down. I’ll pay more for genuine next time. However, I’d give it 6 out of 10 stars.
