It is very thick and hard to work with straight out of the jar, but once warmed in the microwave was easy to work with. We made Chinese BBQ-it was excellent-better than restaurant.

This is the product you need for authentic Chinese cooking. Use it in any sauce recipe and you will see the difference over sugar or honey. I gave it four stars only because it is a little difficult to work with. It's extremely sticky and near impossible to get out of the container--it does not "flow" like honey or any syrup. It's nearly a solid but worth the effort for the results. Best suggestion is to dip your hand in cold water and scoop out a good pinch with your fingers. (I watched a few videos on how to use it, this was the best idea). It works and your fingers won't get sticky. It's impossible to measure this way (forget about getting it into OR out of a measuring spoon) so if you need exact proportions use a scale by placing the vessel you're going to heat it up in on the scale and drop the pinch(s) into that. With that one caveat I highly recommend this product.

I roasted a duck and used this for a glaze. It turned such a nice color!

Tried every wayIcould think of to open it. Channellocks, hot water, jar opener. Never had this problem before. Beware, it is NOT RETURNABLE.

Old and hard like a rock. the box came broken.. Can be reheated it so it's still lying there in the corner of my cupboard.. Sorry, not recommended itto anyone..

This is the genuine malt. While some consumer complained about the product is too hard and difficult to use. Well, this indicated this is the real deal. I would avoid other runny and clear products.
