Great shaver long lasting battery when charged. Gives an excellent shave, self cleaning when in charging port. We'll worth the money .

Purchased this Series 5 5140s on a good deal from Amazon, I'm not sure who would ever pay the ludicrous RRP, it certainly isn't worth that sort of money! I'm using this to replace my 13 year old, super reliable 8995 - who's battery has finally failed (but still works when connected to the mains, unlike some new models including this one, which will not work when plugged in/charging). This Series 5 takes longer to achieve a decent shave than with the 8995 series in my opinion, I certainly find I’m pressing harder and my 3 minute shave has become 5 minutes. It's bigger to hold in your hand, and the side cutter is more awkward to switch on compared with the 8000 series and is a third smaller in cutting width. I didn't want to get the charging and cleaning station (CC models), as having had one with my older 8000 series, I don’t feel they are necessary - the cleaning fluid evaporates quickly, the cartridges are expensive and it really isn't difficult to clean, especially with a fully waterproof model like this Series 5. It's incredibly mean of Braun not to include at least a simple case in the box with this 5 series, it simply comes with a charging lead, foil protector and tiny cleaning brush. This is the 4th Braun shaver I've purchased, and the only one not to come with a case, so that'll be something else to buy separately. Charging is fast, it has a 3 segment LED to indicate charge rather than a more sophisticated LCD. Battery life seems to be good like older models, 2 weeks of use and it’s still going strong with 2/3 of charge remaining. A decent shaver for the price I paid (under £60), but never worth anything like the RRP, it should come with a basic travel case.

Shaves close and comfortably. Clean and charge station is a bonus.

I am honestly very disappointed. This Braun shaver was a replacement for another Braun shaver that failed. I use it lightly, about once every three days, and have done so since April. After only around eight months, it cut my face and made me bleed while shaving. A shaver should never do this. Especially not one sent as a replacement. This feels like a quality issue, not bad luck. I am attaching a photo to show what happened. I have completely lost trust in Braun and will not be buying or recommending their shavers again.

Recomiendo la compra, estoy muy contento. Ha sido la primera máquina de afeitar con la que he conseguido un afeitado razonablemente apurado, cercano a lo que logro con las cuchillas manuales. Además no echo en falta, que el cabezal no sea móvil (como en modelos superiores de la marca), es suficiente con lo que oscilan las propias cuchillas. Mi experiencia está siendo que el sistema Braun es mejor que el Phillips. Con el Phillips necesitas insistir más e irrita más. La forma de pasar la máquina también es diferente. En el sistema Braun va mejor moverla de forma lineal, perpendicular a las cuchillas y a favor del pelo. En el sistema Phillips haciendo movimientos circulares y a contra pelo. La recomiendo por calidad de materiales y efectividad de la máquina. Si bien es cierto que su precio es alto ya que este tipo de sistema de corte sólo lo tiene Braun. El sistema Phillips puede ser más accesible ya que lo implementan varias marcas, incluso marcas chinas, lo cuál hace que haya muchos precios y calidades de materiales. Creo que merece la pena gastar más y comprar estas máquinas Braun.

Despues de leer los comentarios no estaba muy seguro de si comprarla.Tengo una Braun que tiene mas de 25 años y todavia funciona muy bien.Compre este modelo Serie 7 y es una gozada afeitarse con ella,no me irrita nada la piel y apura bien,se limpia en un momento,la utilizo en seco.La cargue y ya llevo 6 afeitados quedando carga,lastima que no trae estuche grande para guardarla junto con el cable,trae uno que solo cabe la maquinilla.
