I'm looking to soundproof the roof of a room in my apartment, would it rip up all of the wall paint on removal?

While I personally have never used this material in such an application, nor would I recommend it. I would have to say that it would be like applying the most adhesive wall paper you can find. Most apartment paints are cheap to begin with. However, if that room ever sees an ounce of heat this material will meld to the wall even more. It is a tar like material. So my answer is YES, It will create damage to apartment walls requiring a lot of scraping and repainting.

Can this be installed on undercarriage of a car?

Yes it can as long as you MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE the surfaces you are attaching to are super clean meaning no grease, oil, dirt, loose debris or rust being present. As long as it’s attached to clean rust free metal and it’s applied using the supplied roller tool it should adhere well. The adhesive is very strong so make sure you get it where you want it because removing it to reapply it is virtually impossible.

How much would i need to do a whole 4th gen camaro?

Accepted Answer

It’s going to depend on if you’re just doing the floors or doors and trunk lid etc. I ordered the 50 sq.ft. roll to do the interior floors and trunk floor of a 1970 Duster. My rough guess is that should be enough, with maybe a little left over but we’ll see. If you wanted to be safe and you plan to do more than the floors, order two 50 sq.ft. rolls. If you need more then you could order smaller packages i.e. 12 sq.ft. etc... Good luck and make sure you use the roller, also, make sure you place it carefully after you remove the backing paper because the stuff really sticks. Another tip, use either a heat gun or even an oven to heat your pieces slightly before putting them down as it helps with adhesion and flexibility, but make sure you got it where you want it because you’ll struggle removing it if you don’t.

Question 4

How does this do again road noise in a truck with beefy tires? I”d like it to sounds like a luxury Mercedes haha if possible that is

It’s probably only going to be most effective if you do the entire underside of the truck. I applied some under my Tundra in the area around the muffler to try and reduce muffler reverberation and found it only minimally effective. You probably will find similar results if you only apply a partial area.
