Small Wonders: Healing Childhood Trauma With EMDR

I am a newly licensed therapist who recently took EMDR. I'm hoping to build a practice doing EMDR with children and adolescents, which is why I bought this book. I had a hard time reading this book; it was a little dry and heavy on the details of every session. I did like being introduced to cases and seing how EMDR was helpful, but I basically skim-read the book, and I'm not sure that it was worth buying. Maybe it would be of more interest to parents who are interested in EMDR for their children. I am hoping that "EMDR and the Art of Psychotherapy with Children" by Adler-Tapia & Settle or "Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy" by Ricky Greenwald will be able to help me more.

As a volunteer with foster children I felt I needed to find out what EMHR was. My daughter who is a play therapist and family therapist suggested that since I had been a teacher of young children that this would help me in my search....

As a new member of the EMDR community, this book helped me understand ways to work with children Primarily a children's therapist who was looking for information on how EMDR & children go together. I would recommend this to any therapist who wants to understand EMDR with children.

Very helpful in my widening my scope of practice with EMDR. Ms. Lovett offers fantastic insights and suggestions. Sits right by my desk so I refer to it easily.

Good insight. Very useful for working with kids using EMDR. Also has good information about trauma with children and adolescents.

Excellent little book. Easy to read and full of good information and techniques would highly recommend this book to other people who are interested in trauma therapy. Very easy to read and understand. Arrived earlier than expected which was also good.
