This pump makes emptying a water bottle easy.
This pump is for people who don't want to set up a water cooler or crock. I prefer to keep the water jugs on the floor in an unused room, but this means that I cannot just drain the water into a pitcher for the fridge. I received this pump quickly and found the parts were pretty intuitive to assemble: the schematic diagram on the box was unnecessary. I tried pumping water out of a cup into the sink in order to rinse it out, but the pump doesn't work unless it is sealed onto a water bottle. It does not suck water out of the jug, it forces air into the jug which pushes the water out through the spout. This is a clever way to do this as I believe the pump can be more compact. The pump comes with three sections of tube which you screw into the bottom of the unit to carry the water up to the spout. I use three-gallon jugs, so only two sections are needed; a five-gallon jug would require the third section. To install the pump onto a jug, you just push the pump onto the opening with enough force to seal the top of the jug to the rubber gasket. This takes very little effort. Then you just slide the outer locking ring down to hold everything in place. It may sound complicated as I describe it, but it is actually very easy; you can do it in under 10 seconds. When you push down on the plunger you are actually improving the pump's seal to the bottle. Pretty sneaky, eh? When you first try it, you ask yourself, "How can this possibly work?" It does. I did pump out some water to rinse out the pump before actually filling my fridge water bottle, but I rinse or wash all new plastic food items as they are often lightly lubricated for ease of assembly. I pumped out just a few ounces of water for this. All up, I think this is a handy little machine that will save you a lot of effort. You won't have to wrestle with pouring water from a 25- or 40-lb. jug without spilling water everywhere.

It works & is awesome to take camping. Everyone will drain it & take photos & ask where u got it.
I got it for Emergency supplies, prepping. But Son went camping and needed to cook, make soup for 50 people. So I sent him there with this and a 5 gallon bottle of Reverse Osmosis water from home. I later went out to check on him camping in another town and the soup came out great, and he told me that the 5 gallons of water was almost gone because lots of Mom's had seen it took photos asked him where he got it and drained it into their canteens and water bottles. No batteries needed. I also got one for my Mom Who lives in a retirement community. She hated the water there and her Brita and she was getting loopy from not drinking enough water. I got her one of these and 3 five gal bottles of water and she's feeling much better and loves the new water system. She fills a nice glass pitcher every day 3x/day and dutifully drinks her water. Much more alert and can think better. Not having issues with dehydration anymore. It is easy to push down has a nice cap, fits of most standard water bottles and made my mom, son and husband happy. My Husband thought the 5 gallos was overkill but was surprised by how many people liked it and that it was empty when they brought it home last week. A great item to have in your Earthquake kit or Emergency supplies. Easy to get clean water for all. Can't reccomend it enough. You won't be sorry and peace of mind is a great thing to have.

Good quality dispenser if you can secure It To The Top.
I like to take a 5 gallon bottle of water with me when I travel. I purchased this water bottle dispenser in a hope that it would make it easier to get the water out of the bottle. Although, it does indeed help get the water out of the bottle, it is very difficult to put on top! In the end I never did actually get it to secure completely on top and it did fall off. Replaced it multiple times and it kept falling off. If I could figure out how to attach it more permanently or securely I would probably give it five stars. I like the tubes had extensions and there were enough to reach to the bottom of the jug. I just did not like that I could not secure it to the top of the bottle.

Handy, but a bit Wonky
I needed a handwash station so I got this. I used it for water bottles that are the big blue 5-gallon dispensers and found it just ok. Installation was super straightforward and pumping it does supply a steady flow of water. The issue is that it's flimsy. After about 3 months of weekly usage, the seal around the top didn't work so well, so less water came out for each pump. At the end, I was pumping vigorously to get a little stream of water. At some point, we had one person just pumping so someone could have water. The last thing that really put the final nail in the coffin was the tube pieces started not fitting well together so it stopped working. Overall, this manual water pump is a good, cheap option for dispensing water but don't count on it lasting too long.
