This was my first time using a silk bonnet. My hair is thick but very fine… the slippery kind that slides out of hair ties and can’t hold a curl or braid. It’s long, down to my mid back. This bonnet is cute and not hard to put my hair into, but it doesn’t stay put. If tied tight it is uncomfortable on the forehead and still occasionally slips down over the eyes. If tied at a more comfortable tightness, my hair comes out of it very quickly. The packaging was cute though and it seems like decent quality.

I've had my Lilysilk Bonnet for just under a week and have worn it every night since. It's very lightweight weighing less than an ounce, I weighed it on my postage scale. The front band is narrow and very comfortable. Elastic casings in most bonnets cause friction and dents in my skin and are for me, very uncomfortable. The small section of elastic is at the back and is fully encased in the soft silk. I tie the bonnet on so that it's not too tight then tuck the loops and tails inside the bonnet so that I don't inadvertantly untie it in my sleep. There's plenty of room for my thick mid-back length hair. I'll also be wearing it while cleaning house to keep dust off my hair. I simply love it and will be ordering backups.

I could not be more surprised by how much I love this sleep cap! I recently dreadlocked my hair for the first time ever. Big decision! And was between a sleep cap or silk pillow. To give you some idea, I throw all my Long, waist length hair above my head and get it as far away from me as possible. I don't like anything touching me so I was hesitant, but this was supposed to be really great for hair. I LOVE sleeping with this. So comfortable and my hair looks great in the morning as well. I gently roll all my hair up into a bun on top of my head and throw cap on. As soon as I have cap on, the hair relaxes and goes where it can within the cap. Plenty of room though, better than sleeping without it, and looks better in morning. Win, win, win, win.

This is very soft, breathable, and satiny. I turned it inside out, because the whole point of a silk sleep cap is for the satiny side to be against your hair. Otherwise, it doesn't really work to prevent breakage. I found there really wasn't room for all my wavy hair, which comes to below my shoulder blades and is not especially thick anymore. Maybe that was why it kept sliding off in my sleep? I didn't use it long enough to see if it made much of a difference. I find that a silk scarf wrapped around my head leaves more room for my hair, and fits just as well if I'm going to need to pin it in place anyway.

This cap is very silky and smooth. It also rests very flush against my head, which is hard to find in a sleeping cap. I love the tie in the back that allows it to stay on all night. However, after trying this several times, I’ve given up. Every morning when I wake up, my curls look worse than when I went to bed. My curls don’t get frizzy, but they get all smashed and stretched. I had to wear my hair up the day after, which is not the point of the cap.
