Very ACCURATE
I really like the simplicity of this unit. The last one I got, and returned was way too complicated. I simply want the temperature of whatever i point it at. That is exactly what this does. Quickly, nothing to really adjust. Point and shoot. I highly recommend this purchase.

Laser temp
Pretty accurate. I use the laser for my cat and it eats batteries

Dependable and Predictable Results
I've had it now for a few years. I have never replaced the batteries. It just works when you need it. I recently used it to diagnose a trailer axle bearing problem by measuring the temp of the drums after a long trip. Excellent for detecting where you need weather stripping or insulation during extreme weather conditions. I've been very pleased with the product.Update (Jan 31, 2019): I just bought a new laster thermometer (different brand) and discovered the new unit was over-stating the temperature by nearly 4 degrees under normal room temps. Needless to say, this Actron unit continues to not only be my go-to unit, but, it is better than several units I've tried and the size and shape are still a plus. Still a very relevant unit with no problems at all and after nearly 9 years of owning it, I don't recall ever changing the battery. Impressive unit by any standard.By the way, the easiest way to determine the accuracy of these devices is to simply point it at a digital wall thermostat. Those are usually very accurate and in my case, this Actron unit has always been spot on.

Fun item
The day I received this item I went on a temperature adventure. I measured everything. I was surprised at at how useful this thing really is. I can't attest to it's accuracy, but it seems to be pretty accurate. The price is reasonable and it is fictional.

Works great
Came with a carrying case. Easy to use. Point and shoot and the temperature is captured. 10:1 distance v. target (1.2" target at 12" distance, 7.2" at 6 feet, etc. Was able to shoot a window about 20' feet away and it appeared to have even finer resolution than that). Repeatable accuracy (same temp displayed each time I re-shot the target). Bought it to help with daughter's science fair project. She needed a way of measuring the temperature of various types of operating lamps (CFLs, incandescents, etc.). Put a piece of black electrical tape on the surface of each and shot it with this pyrometer. The CP7876 has an automatic maximum hold feature that captures the highest temperature so you can sweep the unit around the target area. The large display in the middle shows the instantaneous (about 1 second update rate) and a smaller display in the lower right corner of the screen shows the maximum temperature recorded since the trigger was pulled.

Worked even better than expected
I have concrete floors with embedded in-floor radiant heat, but no plans for the plumbing layout. I thought this tool would let me map the PEX tubing runs to determine the pattern used and the tube spacing. It worked just fine for this application, holding it 12 inches off the floor to give me a 1.2 inch spot size. Reading to 0.1 degree F., it let me follow the hidden hot water pipes and chalk out a map of part of the floor. Reading the second page of the product spec sheet at http://www.actron.com/download.php?hrpdffile=2008/12/11/hr_pdf_16352.pdf, I see a lot of other possible uses that I hadn't thought of, like looking for electrical overloads and hot spots. I'm very satisfied with this product.

Horrible accuracy. Reads too cold by a lot. Pretty useless.
95 degrees F griddle reading is actually ~275, fries bacon! This must be broken. Too late to return it. Waste of money.

The thermometer is necessary when you are doing auto paint ...
The thermometer is necessary when you are doing auto paint in all seasons. It helps me determine how I should handle the paint job at different temperatures. Those who do paint year round know the importance in being aware of temp changes. This tool does the job. I have had this tool for nine years and it finally lost its LED screen so I replaced it with what I know I can depend on. Thanks Actron.

Mide toda temperatura 🌡 ambiente, si es para personas sumale dos grados a partir de la medida en la frente, lo compare con el sensor del termómetro de un reloj de correr y da la misma temperatura en la muñeca, es presiso y fácil de usar.
