Worked great on a 2005 Chevrolet
Used this to replace the valve core on the low side service valve on a 2005 Silverado with the Duramax engine. I could add refrigerant and get the AC cold - but it was leaking out of that valve. The tool allowed me to replace the valve w/o emptying out the AC system and now it's good to go.

Heavy duty product
These are made very well and great use. Saved me a load of money on my car refrigerant.

Inspect these if you buy any. Very good but may have flaw.
This works great but now I know to check it close for a small flaw. On the rod near the tip is a very small wire like clip that is suppose to keep that part from coming off the lock down nut 9see photos) I was removing the low pressure side taking it apart holding it what I thought was a good grip it slipped through my hand and shot up in the air sprayed Freon all over me my face etc. by the time I could see and shut the vale it lost all the freon, left a bad taste in my mouth and looing for all the parts. wire clip was missing so I put the valve back in. that's when I found the missing clip it was now on the top of the valve. Well it is finally fixed but now I got to take the car in and get freon and recharge it. So just check it for small flaw like this tiny C clip or wire to make sure it is firmly in place. That clip should not have a gap or lose on the rod and firmly in the grove.

notches for the valve stemps cut WAY TOO WIDE poor machining
do NOT expect these to work right out of the box, in fact id recomend either modifying them or buying another brand, youll want to narrow the valve stem end as they have been cut way too large to work very well, dont get me wrong they do "work" but the odds of getting your stem out without alot of fight is slim even with some grease on the end to grab the stems, its just bad wrokmanship/machining

Make sure you use it correctly!
this product works just as it should. for people saying it didn’t, 99% are probably using the tool wrong. when you start unscrewing the valve core, pressure is released into the tool. you have to make sure you do not let the plunger push out into your hand or it will release the core. instead keep pressure the plunger into the tool and rotating counter clockwise another 3-4 turns only then will the core be fully back out of the valve. you can then close the valve and pull the back off of the tool and remove the old core. for reference, i used it on a 99-07 silverado/sierra/tahoe, anything of that year range GM product and it worked perfectly.

Great Product for the Home Mechanic
Great Product for the Home Mechanic! Had to tweak the valve grabbing end just ever so slightly, since not all Schrader valves and seats are exactly the same. But with those couple little adjustments, it worked GREAT! Saved me from having to evacuate the Lincoln A/C system of refrigerant, allowing me to only have to add a very small amount due to the leaking Schrader valve I was replacing. I can highly recommend this slick invention. It saved me approximately $500-$750 not having to have the work done at an auto mechanic shop, and not having to replace the refrigerant.

Does not fit all R134a/R12 valve cores
Just because it says it will work with R134a/R12 valve cores, does not mean it will work with all R134a/R12 valve cores. It's some slightly deceptive advertising that could be easily cleared up in the product description.Apparently valve cores are not standardized. My car (andit sounds like many others) uses larger M8 and M10 "Eaton" size valve cores, and this tool would not fit with either. There are also other sizes that are larger than "standard". So you may want to look up what your car uses before purchasing this.None of these cheaper tool sets claim to be compatible with larger bore valve sizes...and the really expensive ones aren't really worth it unless you plan on using it a bunch of times.I decided to just rely on the service port caps to seal (which seems to hold up alright so far), and if there is a slight leak I will evacuate the system and replace the valves using a <$10 tool, but not until the A/C effectiveness gets bad enough.Rated 3/5 since the tool itself looks like it would work well if my valve cores were compatible, but I felt a bit deceived by the product description.

Too small
Dose not fit over the r134a valves

Only works with smaller valve cores
Only half of the items arrived. It seems like it should work for some automotive applications. I was using it on a Mercedes that has a thicker valve core and it will not work as the shaft inside is too small to engage the thicker valve core. Would be awesome if it came with a second insert for large valve cores.

Too small! and too week!
The media could not be loaded. The product is not strong enough to operate the shredder valve on the CAR AC SYSTEM and the size of valve pin hole is to small to fit over.I try to modify and broke in the first unscrewing try, to manufacture pin they use to week steal which is not thought enough
