PLUMBER REVIEW: gotta say it... Half the negative reviews are just wrong. SPLIT = YOU LEFT HOSE ON.
THIS IS NOT DEBATABLE. Its engineering 101.If the spigot split YOU LEFT THE HOSE ON, AND IT FROZE. Period. There is NO OTHER WAY THIS HAPPENS. Ever. These frost-free spigots are FROST free, not freeze free!!! If you leave the hose on the spigot over the winter IT WILL FREEZE. PERIOD. Do not blame the company for that. That's on you. I'm a plumber. Ive left my own hose on. I blamed myself!! We all do it. We all forget sometimes. Just take the hose off at the first mention of freezing temps and you'll be fine. Leave it off till spring. After all freeze warnings are gone (Usually April or May) you're ok to leave the hose on all spring, summer and fall.OK moving past that, this is a CHEAP spigot. Quality wise, its LIGHT, which worries me. But you get what you pay for. As long as I'm easy on it, it should be fine.ANOTHER TIP.This has to be installed at an angle. It shuts the water off on the end that's in the house, NOT at the knob. So if installed perfectly horizontal it may not have enough fall to keep it from freezing even with the hose off. NEVER install with handle end higher than connection end. It needs to be angled down.ALSO turn it till its just barely snug then WALK AWAY!! Let it dribble. It will stop I promise. Don't keep turning it because its dribbling. You'll destroy the washer and possibly the faucet. Always remember. Snug and pull your hand back and don't touch it. Its common reaction to keep "trying to turn it off" after its already stopped. You see, all the water has to dribble out. That takes a few seconds.I teach all my customers this, and I have a really huge success rate with not returning to replace them. Most people are happy that i explained it all.If you want a heavier spigot get an Arrowhead. They're the best made spigots out there. If you want to save money, and know the basics of how to use it, BUY THIS SPIGOT. This one is hard to beat at the price.Amazon says "HONEST REVIEWS" so here goes. That big box store.. sells American Valve... Its made in China. Just saying. THIS MIDLINE SPIGOT IS TWICE AS GOOD AS THE AMERICAN VALVE AT HALF THE PRICE. Honestly, Amazon has great quality plumbing parts.:) Vote helpful so my time wasn't wasted typing all this. :)

this is a product that you can not buy at the hardware store
I wanted the the faucet without the vent, we have hard water and the vent only leaks all the time.

Easy install
Purchased a house in the midwest and the home did not have a frost free spigot. This is a great deal and works perfectly. No leaks, the build quality is very nice, no complaints. The cost was a great deal compared to Lowes, Menards, and Home Depot. I believe it was about half the cost. Buy it, you will not regret it.

Decent quality
I ordered three. They arrived exactly as advertised. with PEX ends. Looks like decent brass quality, chrome plated. So far so good. I'd buy again - good price value. I'm a retired aircraft engineer - I'm picky.

They are freeze proof provided you don't leave the hose on.
I've had two Everflow 6214P-NL Sillcocks on the exterior of my cabin for going on two years. Last year, night time temperatures dropped as low as -8Β°F (-22Β°C) and I had no problem with freeze damage. This year, I had one split because I forgot to take the hose off so the sillcock could drain. That was my fault and not a design fault. I ordered a new replacement. These sillcocks are designed so that when you turn off the faucet knob, you need to remove the hose if temperatures are expected to drop below freezing. They are designed to drain the inner barrel so that ice cannot form and split the sillcock. Thus, they work as they are designed. You just have to remember to remove the hose and let the sillcock drain. In our cold winters, the design of the Everflow 6214P-NL Sillcock is ideal. My remembering to remove the hose was not quite so ideal. That mistake will not be repeated.

Worked as needed.
Item was exactly as described. I had an old one that I could no longer get parts for. The fact that it had pex fitting pre-attached was a bonus.

One inch hole
Important for me drilling through brick...........Only one inch hole required........Faucet works as expected and drains completely if slightly tipped appropriately. I tested this by checking volume before and after install because I live in extremely cold environment.two thumbs up

Installed easily and turn on and off effortlessly
The originals in the house were too short and froze in the wall causing leakage in the spring. The positioning would have made it impossible to solder so by cutting back the copper pipe and installing a pex/sweat connector on the end I could connect a piece of pex to the tap and then thread it through to the copper pipe. One quick crimp and it was complete!

Pipe Burst
The product was easy to install and seemed great. Ordered it in September of 2019 and used it until October. Drained the line and shut the water off for the winter. Turned it back on recently and noticed a leak. When I pulled the piece out of the wall I found the pipe bulged and cracked. Contacted Amazon and chatted with them and was informed that there was no warranty at all on this item.
