FAVOREAL 6" Jointer/Planer Knife Sharpening Jig

This jig performed as advertised. Very easy to use. It comes with a how to video. The guy in the video is a little long winded but take 15 min to listen to what he has to say and you will know exactly what you need to do. Just go get one sheet each of 6 different grit sandpaper and start honing.

The item is good if your bevel angle is set the same as the jig. Mine was different and therefore the item will not do its job. Otherwise it's well made

I have 3 sets of blades that needed sharpening & this tool seemed to be the best for sharpening without needing to send them out for over a week. Setting everything up is fast & easy. The only problem I have run into with it & why I didn't rate it 5 star is the angle is slightly different than the blades I have, so it is taking a lot longer to get them to the finer sand paper for the final honing.

Very easy to set up to sharpen blades and helps to give a razor edge.

My jig had one of the brass pins protruding into the channel that holds the jointer blade. Obviously it got past inspection or there is no inspection done. I wrote them 2 separate times and both times no reply. Sorry but I cannot recommend this company

I saw this product advertised by a woodworking supplier and was excited at the prospect of being able to finally sharpen these expensive planer & jointer blades. You can purchase the 12" jig at a higher price but the 6" does a great job with both planer & jointer blades. Item is as advertised but it is important to follow directions to achieve the best results. If you have a chipped place on a planer blade and it is two sided like mine you can still get use out of the non-chipped side. Good price for a great product. If you have money to burn, go buy new blades each time, but if your budget is like mine this is an excellent investment. Just use a quality sandpaper, like Norton or Bosch, and you can, with little practice, get quality edges back again and again.. I will use this seller again.

Just tried them for the first time. Looks like these will be just what I need.

I just replace my 8" jointer blades and though I would give this a try on the old ones. After 10 minutes they were as sharp if not sharper than my new ones. I should have bought this first and skipped the new blades.
