The two features I like best are the variable dot size (2
This is my third Ultra Dot Matchdot optical sight. The other two have been in use for some years on two other target pistols. The two features I like best are the variable dot size (2, 4, 6, and 8 M.O.A.) combined with the adjustable intensity of the red dot for various light conditions, both indoor and outdoor. The scope is rugged, handling the recoil of a .45 cal. target pistol without problems, and is free of parallax. This is a popular sight among competitive pistol shooters in the "bullseye" discipline, and for good reason. If there is any downside at all, it is a bit larger and heavier than some others, at 5.1" & 4.8 oz. However, in my opinion the features and performance more than make up for that. Click adjustments for windage and elevation are one quarter inch at 25 yds or one half inch at 50 yds. All in all, a top quality electronic sight.

but they all have big dots greats for fast big targets but no so good for target shooting
Well I just received my Ultra Dot and mounted it on my Browning Buckmark rifle. What a difference between it and the Bushnell I had to return. This thing rocks.I was a competition shoot for many years and used Tasco Pro Points, but they all have big dots greats for fast big targets but no so good for target shooting. I will say however all three of my Pro Points are still working after 30 years and never failed to perform when I needed them. This Ultra Dot as far as I can tell is identical in size to the Pro Point, a plus for me but wow what a difference in performance. Both dots are plenty bright but I believe the dots on the Ultra Dot are rounder and easier to see at lower settings. And to have 4 dot sizes GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT. This scope is like having a Pro Point on steroids. In other words I think I am going to like it. I guess it refers back to "you get what you pay for." Looking forward to sighting in and doing some shooting.I don" expect this combo to preform like my CZ target rifle that shoots a ragged hole at 25 yards, but that combo is a bolt action target- hunting rifle. This red dot combo is for fast action fun.We shell see. Thanks Amazon.Follow up. Well I zeroed red dot at 25 yards and came up with a five shot group I could cover with a dime. This will also make it a great scope for small game.

HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT!
The Ultradot Matchdot is a very nice red dot scope from a company that has an excellent reputation for quality, sales and service. It has four MOA dot sizes - 2, 4, 6 and 8 - and 11 brightness settings to accommodate every dot size. It comes with a set of rings, making the scope even a better deal. The optic is crystal clear and easy to look through. It’s great for hunting and target shooting. What’s not to like? I couldn’t be happier!

this red dot seems very solidly built but is bigger then i thought it would be. i really like the dot and the ability to change from 2 moa all the way up to 8 moa. i have a sig red dot and a bushnell trs-25 and this has a far better dot with no starring unless you turn the power way up more then is needed. and i really like the polarizing filter, it allows you to darken the background or limit the amount of bright sunlight through the sight making it easier to see your target and the dot on bright days. i wish i would have just spent the money and got this sight instead of all the others i tried first. but as with most people i tried the cheap route first but was never happy with anything i bought. i mounted this on an old markII 22/45 that because of aging eyes now have trouble seeing the sights on. i really like this red dot and may buy one for a taccom AR22 i built recently.

Bullseye!
Use it for Bullseye. I like all the adjustability in terms of brightness, dot size and ability to shift fore and aft to achieve balance on my Buckmark Contour.

Huge disappointment
Had high hopes for this after reading Max Prazak's Big Bore Revolvers. Mounted it on my S&W 629 .44 mag Performance Center Hunter and immediately noticed an internal screw protrudes into the sight picture on the left. Took it to the range and it would not track properly or hold POI. Shot 100 rounds. At 50 yards, my open sight groups are half the size of the average groups with this, and my open sight groups are in the center of the target, as opposed to the wandering groups I get with this thing. Sent it back the next day. I did not experience the fuzzy dot problem that others have reported.

I've had two of these on my. 45 for ...
I've had two of these on my .45 for bullseye and both lasted less than 500 rounds. The dot starts to intermittently disappear and then dies altogether. Nothing more frustrating in a match. Battery and o rings are almost new. Can only assume the electronics cant deal with the recoil of a higher caliber pistol. I have the Matchdot 2 on my .22 and so far no issues.
