Waterdrop A1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System

Overall seems to work very well and saves us money vs water delivery. Water flow is great, though it is slower on higher temps, but the adjustable volume dispensing means you don’t have to watch over it. The reason I got this is the great cold water I get 42-46F during the summer, feels nice and cool. Great design with a separate cold and room temp water tank, much better than the cooling coil style (doesn’t get cold enough). Hot temps feel generally accurate. The removable magnetic drip tray makes larger water bottles or pitchers generally fit without having to tilt/hold it. Though some very large tall bottles won’t fit fully (have to tilt). Easy to add water. With 2 people, I expect to refill about every day. But it’s easy enough. My TDS is about 10-18, a great range. For this new version, I saw they actually got water testing certification now and online reviewers did independent testing with good results too. Overall: It’s been great and while expensive, saves us money in the long run over water bottle delivery services. Feels great converting cheap tap water into cool tasty clean water. Negatives: (1) Wish there was a 12 oz dispensing option, 8 is too little and 16 is too much sometimes. Not a big deal. (2) Unavoidable for countertop styles, but larger capacity would be nice. Wish someone will make an RO standing unit using a 2.5 gallon water bottle or something (like those water bottle dispensers but RO).

Set it out of the box after it got delivered. After doing all the flashing of the system, it said the water temperature would cool down in a couple of hours. In a couple of hours when I was going to get some filtered water, E12 was displayed to indicate serious issue regarding the refrigeration components… it was brand new, first time out of the box $500 machine and failed before we can drink any of the water out of it. It’s so bulky and heavy so dropping it to return is a two people job. Money, efforts wasted. Very upsetting customers.

Very heavy. Must have 8 inches clearance on both sides for heat to vent out from maintenance of filtering off and on all day, not just for hot water. Took multiple times of flushing - more than they say, to get taste out of water and still tastes sort of ‘silky’. Unfortunately, reservoir is too heavy for me to fill up with fresh water daily and carry across kitchen-had to place machine on my rollable wooden island, which I had to place against breakfast nook wall to get close to an outlet (cabinets are way too low for this to fit under-it is TALL). Cold water never as cold as says. Condensation gathers all in the reservoir which concerns me as far as bacterial growth. I love the multiple layer filtering and idea of this; I thought I could give up bottled water forever, but hasn’t worked out for me. Am returning it. Still seems like a quality product, just not a good fit for me.

Very heavy to set up and refill.

We absolutely love our countertop RO machine. We have had ours 10 months and noticed a tiny leak appear when I’d go to refill the machine. Turns out the plastic refill tank had a hairline crack. After reaching out to their customer service and reaching Becky, my concern was quickly resolved. They sent me a replacement part so I can continue to drink water that has been RO filtered. When water quality is as bad as it is in most places, especially Iowa, waterdrop is the solution that’s affordable and easy to setup. The taste of the water is the best I’ve ever had. The A1 also is able to produce ice cold water. We haven’t noticed any increase in our electric bill.

This was my first time investing in a water filter, and after a lot of research, I decided on the Waterdrop WD-A1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System. It arrived quickly and was packaged extremely well, and we used it every day for coffee, tea, drinking water, boiling water, sanitizing, everything. Unfortunately, after six months it started leaking, and I was worried because this was a large investment. I reached out to customer service at Waterdrop and their response times were incredibly fast. Karina helped me with every step. She immediately replaced the unit and it arrived quickly. When I returned the old unit, I forgot to take out the newly swapped filters, and she immediately sent replacements. I am so grateful for her help and the new unit has been up and running well for the last few months. Thank you, Karina!

Review: Extremely Disappointed with Waterdrop’s Customer Service I submitted a customer service request to Waterdrop over two weeks ago regarding my A1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System, which suddenly stopped dispensing water. I received no call back or update—just a generic survey asking if my issue had been resolved. I clearly stated in my survey response that it had not, and still, no one followed up. Eventually, I received a voicemail from someone named Peter asking me to return the call. When I did, I spoke with a representative named Elsie. Unfortunately, Peter didn’t leave a ticket number, so Elsie had to search for my case using my phone number. After locating the service request, which clearly stated the issue (the system no longer dispenses water), she told me she would have to forward it to their tech support team for review. I spent over 20 minutes on that call, only to be told that someone might get back to me within 24 hours. Why wasn’t this escalated to tech support when I submitted the original request over two weeks ago? Why does it take a customer follow-up just to be told someone might eventually look into it? This level of service is unacceptable. I’ve never experienced such poor customer support. I now have little hope that this issue will be resolved promptly—if at all—and I may be forced to file a claim through American Express to recover the cost. Waterdrop has completely lost my trust. I will never purchase another product from this company again and strongly advise others to think twice before doing so.

You have to refill it a lot because either the water runs out or the dump tank gets full. Its really heavy. Water tastes good though. You can't fill water bottles with this so if you want to fill your nalgene bottle, the water will run out before it even reaches the top. It is convenient but I ended up just purchasing a 5 gallon water tank to just fill water for water bottles or cooking food tbh.

i have an under counter unit from the same brand. It works so well in the house that I wanted one for the shop, but I only have a bathroom sink. I don't have the ability to set it up where it would be convenient. This was the perfect solution. Well... Almost. I am not a fan of the source water being in the same catch basin as the discard water. You have to dump both when the discard is full. That is my only real complaint. Other than that it is very convenient with heating and cooling water. The reverse osmosis does a great job of removing contaminants. it takes it from 80 ppm down to just a few. The water tastes great!

I bought it 6 months ago and it’s the time to change the filter, after checking their website the CF filter out of stock, so i need to stop using it i paid $800+taxes for 6 months or what!!

This countertop reverse osmosis system sounded perfect for me. I love having fresh, clean and convenient water to drink that is free from unwanted impurities. This Waterdrop machine sounded like it was the right one for my wants and needs. For starters, this thing is extremely heavy. If you aren't particularly strong you will need someone to help you lift it and place it down or at the very least have some assistance with it. It comes with 2 different filters to place inside of the machine. One of them is supposed to last 12 months and the other 6 months. Set up was extremely difficult. I would start the required flushing process and it would always get stuck halfway through. It would say I need to fill the water tank to continue. This would happen repeatedly even after filling it and emptying the waste water reservoir. I had to always start back at the beginning again and again and it would get stuck at the same place in the process each time again and again despite the tap water tank being full and the tap reservoir section being emptied out. By some strange miracle, I finally got it through the whole process after well over a dozen tries of this whole process. I was able to have a modest sized amount of water to try after this was completed. It tasted fine, not the best or worst water I've ever drunk but it was okay. I tried making more water and I ran into a similar issue as I did with the setup process. It said the water tank was empty and to fill it. I filled it to the max line and it still said this. Since the plastic basin had some waste water still I thought I better empty it and it might fix the problem. Well, I couldn't do that. The plastic reservoir that you have to lift out from the back to empty was now completely stuck. How? I absolutely do not know. The previous times I lifted and emptied the plastic reservoir I had absolutely no problem in taking it out. Now it was literally as if it were glued to the machine. When the plastic reservoir was finally able to be removed, I was still having difficulties using the system. It is built in a very odd and inconvenient matter. The waste water and tap water sections are both in the same plastic jug, just with a plastic divider in between them to show the difference. You have to life the whole huge thing instead of just one section that needs to the filling or emptying. This is a big inconvenience and for the price tag of $900 you think they could have split this into 2 different plastic reservoir for ease and convenience. Then when I wanted a cold glass from the machine, it took almost 10 minutes of it making weird and loud sounds to then finally make a glass for me. The result was that the water wasn't even cold, just slightly cooler than room temperature. After making that glass, the machine was constantly making sounds even though the touch screen was off and it wasn't in use. I had to unplug it to get it to stop. As cool as this machine sounded, it is way too much of a headache and an inconvenience. I could go on writing about all the glitches and problems. I went through so much work and effort to get it started and working only to get a couple of modestly filled glasses of okay tasting water out of it. This was definitely a disappointing experience to say the least. Most especially given its selling price of $900, I can't in good faith recommend this machine based on my personal experience with it.

This is my first reverse osmosis water tank. It's heavy and it takes quite a bit of space, but it doesn't need to be hooked on my water supply - I just need to fill the water tank, and I can get filtered hot, ambient or cold water. It seems to work quite well, my kids love using it. The initial cleaning cycle was very long. I am also surprised about how noisy it is. The other odd aspect - I tried to register it for warranty and apparently the serial number of my machine doesn't exist.

It takes 2 filters to make this RO water. One for carbon filament, other for reverse osmosis filtration. They great pretty pricy. $50 and $90 respectively on Amazon at this time. You do change the CF filter every 6 months and the RO filter every year. I will say though, it's tasty water! Almost a plug and play. It's a little bit of a lengthy process to get it going to initiate via flushing water through it several times because of it being first time use. It's awesome that it does do hot and cold water. It's awesome. Sure it's heavy but it also doesn't allow it to be easily knocked over. I really like this system. Though I hate refilling it every time when it's low. Pros and cons I guess.
