AMS Racing GM Chevy Active Fuel Management AFM DOD Disable Kit with Oil Pump for 5.3L engines

Kit came complete with everything in the pictures. Didn't trust the lifters because I didn't know who made them. I looked up the stamped numbers and came across a youtube video and only 15 out of 16 lifters worked. Valve cover gaskets didn't fit. Didn't trust head gaskets either. Camshaft was great. So far everything that I used is working so far including the oil pump.

I purchased this kit when my trucks' 5.3L LS V8 began to develop the dreaded AFM lifter tick. Before any damage occurred, I decided to just bite the bullet and remove the system.If I could do it over, I probably would have just ordered a set of Melling non-AFM lifters (which this kit includes,) a factory non-AFM camshaft (this kit also includes,) a valley cover from a 4.8 LS (kit includes,) and the non-AFM lifter guides. I say this because I ended up not using the cheap gasket set that came with this kit. I also found out (unfortunately AFTER it was already back together) that the Melling M295 pump was the wrong capacity pump for my truck and threw a CEL code for "Oil pressure out of range." Thankfully, no damage occurred to my engine but it was a real pain to pull the pan down again to install the correct pump (Melling M365.)I didn't like the quality of the gasket set that came with this kit and went with a Fel-Pro kit instead. Again, the Melling lifters, factory valley cover and factory cam were about the only good things in this kit. In hindsight, it wouldn't have been too hard to order the parts separate and may have even been cheaper.Either way what's done is done and with 2,500 miles since the repair my truck is running great, so I guess that's what matters.

After an AFM lifter failed for a second time I purchased this full AFM delete kit. I was very impressed by the quality of the parts (many actual GM parts). Contrary to other reviews I had read, the gaskets were quality gaskets and my mechanic was impressed with the entire kit. Also sent my ECM in to AMS Racing for the DOD/AFM Delete and stage one tune. Very rapid return of the ECM. My truck runs better than it ever has.

The service was good but they don't give very good descriptions of there products. So naturally I ended up with a kit that would not work. They did reimburse me 559 of the 613. I paid plus I spent 57 to ship it back so it cost me a little over 100 to find out I should have just went with the oem in the first place.live and learn. If I would have switched to the new kit they said would work it would have cost me over 1000 I spent 800 with the oem and am very happy with those results.

Runs great reflashed Ecm after I made sure rest of engine was good. Everything I needed was in kit.

Engine rebuild kit was great. High quality parts and gaskets for a great price. Worked perfectly in my 5.3 09 avalanche.
