Nitecore EC20 960 Lumens 242 Yards Compact Cree XM-L2 LED Flashlight with 2x CR123A Batteries and a Lumen Tactical Premium Holster

This is a GREAT flashlight for EDC, if you USE it everyday. I have one of these stashed away for emergency use, and twice now, within 3-5 months, it has drained the 2 tenergy batteries down to .2 volts( brand new out of the box both times).I've seen reviews on candle power that this has a 124 uA drain. not sure what that translates to, the review said 3 years. but that has NOT been my experience.If you are going to carry this thing at 5 inches long, go for it. It is great for the size.If you are going to attach it to, say, a self-defense weapon, DO NOT BUY IT unless you test it quite regularly.This light is coming off-duty and going into storage empty, for emergency use only.I think the EC21 has a tailcap switch, which makes it terrible for use on a weapon.

Recommended if you like a cool white beam. I like the voltage and battery level indicators in the form of a blue blinking light under the switch. Nice auxiallary features: strobe, SOS, and beacon modes. I use the beacon mode while riding my bike during the day, and it is visible from a country mile away. I wish there was an output level between 250 and 960, but it works pretty well the way it is. I use it as my bike light with a Fenix AL-10 handle bar mount. Prefer the Fenix E35UE for general use, and my PD35 for a backup/self-defense light...I like both these lights because they have a whiter beam quality.

This is a sweet flashlight for the price. The brightest setting lights up every room as if it were daylight. It's amazing. I love the low setting for general use. I carry this with me in most travel situations, I will surely use the strobe feature if I need attention drawn to me at night.Update 4/13/16 - the battery is already dead & I've used it less than 50 times, less than 5 minutes at a time. Gonna take back a star for that 4 month life span of minimal use for the battery.

I only have one complaint and its mainly because I bought the wrong one. This model has one button to turn it on, off and switch modes. When i go to put the light in my holster, I really need to pay attention to the button and not hit it against the holster. The button actually protrudes that much. I've drained my batteries countless times because of this. If i got the one with the button on the rear, I wouldn't have had this issue.Other than that, this flashlight is a BEAST!

I love this light. So far it has taken the number one spot in my stash. indeed it's possible to turn on accidentally. I find if you using the included holder to place it in with the switch against the stretch material This seems to prevent accidental turn on's. I'm running on the included batteries but I intend to fit it with a high capacity 18650.The low power settings is great for a dark room reading light settings above that are in increments that seem well suited. On high! OMG this thing is BRIGHT! point it at a ceiling and the whole room will be lit.Very well made, all seals lubed.

I've worked in a prison, performing security for 18+ years. I collect and own dozens of flashlights. For the money, size, and lumen output, this is a winning combination. Not a huge fan of CR123, or 18650, but it is, what it is. Since I'm nit-picking, I'd also rather the switch be located on the tail cap. However this is still a 5-Star tool. An excellent EDC, and bug-out bag staple. If you're looking for an super bright, easy to carry, inexpensive torch, by all means. THIS IS IT!!!

I bought this set when it was only $35. Amazon must have realized that this was an INSANE deal and upped the price to $45.Even so, $45 for a Nitecore quality flashlight that's THIS FREAKING BRIGHT (960 lumens?!) is insane, and beyond worth the deal if you've already got a pair of 18650s and a charger. Can't beat it.I cannot tell the different between beam-shots between this EC-20 and the slightly more expensive P12 by the same brand. Amazing deal.

Fast shipping, quality is good. Like any other flashlight of this brightness, it gets hot on the high setting. The only thing I didn't like aand the reason for the missing star is the button on the side. If I lean on it, it will turn on. Happened 2x in the last month of daily use.
