Rose Quartz Gua Sha & Face Serum (30ml) Set – Hydrating & Even Skin Tone with Vitamin C, Collagen & Peptides

I think 4 stars feels about right for this because it’s a little bit of a mixed bag. One part I really like, one part I’m a bit more meh on. Starting with the serum, it’s not bad at all, just not anything amazing either. I've used this brand several times and this feels a bit blander and wows me less than their usual ones. It’s meant to have vitamin C in it but I’ve got no idea how much (the wording of it being "with" vitamin C and not a vitamin C serum probably should have tipped me off!). It does smell quite nice to my nose but unfortunately, that's not a plus in this case! It makes me think it’s on the lower side because proper vitamin C isn’t exactly known for smelling particularly pleasant, lol. I wouldn’t expect any huge brightening results from that side of things. But it's not a total waste, it is nice and moisturising. Nice texture to it too and gives a nice bit of slip, which I suppose is the whole point when you’re using it with the gua sha! My skin does feel soft afterwards and it's not unpleasant whatsoever. It’s a bit of a mix of everything, niacinamide, peptides, bits of collagen, some hydrating ingredients. In regards to collagen in skincare, it’s not magically rebuilding (get powder or supplements! but it can help with hydration and that slightly plumped look so it’s also not useless either. Now the gua sha is the part I really like, I genuinely love it. It’s rose quartz, feels nice and weighty and really well made. It glides really so nicely over the skin with a serum or oil and fits the contours of my really face well. I’ve mainly been using it around my cheekbones and jaw and it does give a bit more definition. In general, it just *feels* nice to use too. I think that’s why I’ve landed on 4 stars. The serum on its own is probably more of a 3 for me, decent but not special, but the gua sha is easily a 5. For the price, getting a good quality tool in the set does make it feel better value overall. So no, not perfect, but still worth it for the gua sha alone in my opinion! The serum does the job, the gua sha is the star!

Die Formulierung ist grundsätzlich funktional aufgebaut, aber nicht besonders modern. PEG-100 Stearate und Polysorbate 60 sind klassische Emulgatoren, die dafür sorgen, dass sich Öl und Wasser mischen. Die gelten als sicher, sind aber eher „alte Schule“ und können die Haut leicht durchlässiger machen. Das wird hier relevant, weil gleichzeitig Parfum und Duftstoffe (z. B. Linalyl Acetate, Pinene) enthalten sind. In Kombination kann das die Wahrscheinlichkeit für Irritationen erhöhen, vor allem bei empfindlicher Haut. Für robuste Haut ist das meist kein Problem, aber optimal ist es nicht. Dazu kommt, dass Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineralöl) sehr weit vorne steht. Das ist zwar nicht schädlich, wirkt aber eher okklusiv und liefert selbst keine aktiven Hautvorteile. Für ein Serum in dieser Preisklasse wirkt das etwas schwach. Die „aktiven“ Inhaltsstoffe wie Niacinamid, Vitamin C, Peptide sind zwar vorhanden, aber eher verstreut und vermutlich nicht hoch dosiert. Das Gesamtbild ist daher mehr Pflege als echte Wirkstoffbehandlung.
