True Temper1588400 AutoBoss Emergency Car Shovel

I purchased the True Temper Aluminum Snow Shovel to have an extra one on hand before they stop making this model. I really like that the shovel is lightweight. I live in WI where winters come along with snow, slush, and ice. I have had my current True Temper shovel now for 5 winters and other than a little denting on one side it is in perfect shape. I like the extra guard on the end of the shovel that allows me to get all the way down to the pavement/cement or wherever I am shoveling. The larger handle makes it easy to hold. It is lightweight so even with the heavy, wet snow I can manage to get the job done. The 18" wide blade of the shovel makes for less passes on the sidewalk. I am pleased with this shovel. I see they make one that is ergonomic, but I like this one better. I am shorter 5'4 and the straight handle works better for me.

pretty sturdy. didn't want a snow shovel that was plastic or rubber blade.

This shovel is light weight and a bit over priced the Handle comes loose and spins while shoveling heavy snow I will have to add some screws I feel it could be made better I don't feel that you should have to fix after second use

What's not to like about a sexy, sleek snow shovel? I've dreamed of owning one of these so I could spend 4 hours alone with it in the driveway while breathing heavily. This shovel is worth it's weight in snow!

My trusty snow shovel broke towards the end of February 2015. I could hardly blame it after the record-setting amount of snow we received here in the Boston area. Though spring was around the corner, I knew I needed another shovel just in case more snow fell.Luckily, I did make this purchase, because sure enough, we did get more snow. Nothing over a few inches, but so far, I am very pleased. And as a life-long New Englander, I think I have pretty high standards for snow shovels!First, the blade is nicely curved, so the snow gets scooped into the blade as you push it along the ground. What I especially like is that you can scoop a good amount of snow in one push.Second, the steel wear strip works great. It makes for smooth movement over my driveway, and I can clear the snow right down to the blacktop.Third, the shovel is not too heavy. We literally have a 4-to-5-foot snow bank on either side of our driveway because of all the accumulated snow this season. I wouldn't say it's "easy", but I am able to use this shovel to throw snow over the tops of the snow banks. (I am a 5' 6" female, not especially fit, but not exactly out of shape either. Manually shoveling snow is probably the most exercise I get all year!)This product boasts a "unique VersaGrip" handle which is kind of hard to see in the product photo, but basically, there's a bend in the middle of the handle. So far, I haven't noticed it being especially comfortable on my hands or anything, but it doesn't bother me, either, so I think it's fine.As I mentioned, I didn't get this shovel until the end of the snow season, so I don't know yet how sturdy this shovel will be under the weight of heavy, wet snow, or whether or not the steel wear strip will work effectively in helping to break up that layer of ice that sometimes builds up on the driveway. Still, I'm willing to give this product 5 stars now because it's doing a great job so far, and I suspect that it will hold up. I do tend to keep up on my reviews, so if I make any new discoveries in the coming winters, I'll be sure to update this review.Now, I want to say, I'm big on online shopping, and I'm always careful to read reviews before making a purchase. This shovel surprised me because it looked really great, but at the time I bought it, there were only a handful of reviews. I jumped over to the web site of a major home improvement retail chain, and sure enough, they had dozens of reviews on this product - and all were positive. If there still aren't a ton of reviews here when you look at this product, try checking out reviews on other sites.UPDATE 3/4/2015: Last night, we got a few inches of snow, then rain. That makes for a very wet, very heavy slush. This shovel felt sturdy under the weight, and held up fine.

Good compact shovel for the car. I find it much easier to use than a small traditional shovel. I had purchased a small traditional shovel for my son that was effectively the same size but it was awkward for him to use. Especially if you get your load off centered. I gave him this one and he was off to the races. As if we had giant snow moles, tunnels appeared everywhere.Needless to say I now own 3. One for each car and one for my son.The achilles heel of this shovel is ice and hard packed snow. It is plastic and has a flat blade, so it is pretty useless it this regard. You also won't be using it to pry or lever anything. If you really need to deal with that, this will still do the one thing a spetsnaz shovel can't, move snow.

It appears to be a well constructed shovel that is light weight. Since it hasn’t snowed yet, I have not been able to test it out.

Petite pelle très pratique qui se plie en deux et qui prend très peu de place dans le coffre de la voiture. Excellent outil pour déneiger sous la voiture lors de difficultés à se sortir d'une impasse.

The shovel broke down after two use only, during a snow storm.Not made for hard canadian weather at all.

This shovel is great. It breaks up the packed snow for a clean driveway.
