As if you are looking at the behind the scene of his books, you will be able to understand the essence of TOC. This book is to give you the overview of his theory so that readers can get the big picture of it. IMHO, it is better to open this book after you've gone through his The Goal at least, but it's not a prerequisite.

TOC（制約理論）のまとめがしてあります。TOCのとっかかりとなっている「The Goal」から最初にJonahに会った部分とハイキングでつまった時にマッチ棒で解析した部分がAppendixに再掲してあり、改めてこれらがTOCの根幹であることを感じました。 わかってしまえば簡単なこと「当然じゃないか」と思います。でも、ボトルネックということをこの本が出る前にも経験しているのですが、このような単純な解釈がなければ改善はできません。 一部の最適化（例：生産効率のアップ）のみでは全体最適につながらない。 物事には結果をもたらす原因とその原因をもたらす結果がある。 目的が同じでも、そこにたどる道（目的達成の要求事項）が異なれば出発点（必要条件）が異なる。こんなことが深く理解できます。改善がうまくいかないで悩んでいる人におすすめです。
