My Tab E3 Pro has lived on my desk for workdays and on the sofa for lazy evenings, and it has yet to cough or splutter. The Helio G100 chip, backed by a frankly absurd 32 GB of RAM, flicks through half a dozen Chrome windows, a Lightroom session, and a quick race in Asphalt at a steady 60 fps, all whilst the aluminium shell stays barely warm. The 13-inch FHD+ screen is a pleasure. Colours leap off the glass, the slim bezels vanish once the lights are down, and Netflix takes on a faintly cinematic air. Four speakers throw out well-balanced sound that drowns the neighbour’s hammering, and the faithful 3.5 mm jack means I can catch Match of the Day at midnight without disturbing anyone. Battery life borders on the ridiculous. Two full seasons of a drama, one fairly long video call, and I still had enough left to give my phone a quick top-up through reverse charging. When I do run it dry, an 18 W charger drags it back to 50 per cent in under two hours, which is a blessing on those mornings when I forget to plug it in overnight. The generosity continues in the box: keyboard, mouse, stylus, case, screen protector, the lot. The chassis is tidy metal, only 7.9 mm thin, and dual-SIM 4G keeps my email flowing when Wi-Fi falls over. Face unlock is almost instant, so I rarely have to poke in a PIN. For me, it adds up to cracking speed, a lush display, marathon stamina, and a bundle that saves me hunting for extras, and that is why it earns every one of its five stars.

Good all round tablet. Good quality build. Nice display. Sound could be louder but quality is fine. Supplied keyboard works fine but feels cheap. Wish it had a keyboard that connects magnetically like the T30 series.
