Dual drilled
Ordered this on the Chrome page for full browser (PC) and it didn't mention double drilled. Pulled it up on the phone with the mobile webpage 'cause my buddy says "Nah, you f'd up.", lol. SO it seems on the mobile page it shows some specific details. Like the words "double drilled". Incidentally, which means it has 20 holes drilled in it.It's kind of important if you don't have a double drilled carrier and don't want 10 extra holes in your ring gear. Some people will say "what's the difference", or who cares. BUT I'd rather have a plain 10 hole ring gear. I couldn't even find a 3/8 and 5/16 carrier for a Chrysler 8.25. Dana 44, of course. Think musclecar. Nitro, baby.Anyways, if you'd rather have a plain old ten bolt ring gear and ain't going to double drill (unlikely) your carrier/Detroit Locker anytime soon, this ain't for you. I would hereby humbly request the little detail be added to the full browser webpage, not just the mobile. Tx...

This gear makes less noise than The 2 Nitros that ...
This gear makes less noise than The 2 Nitros that i originally put in. The first Nitro was hurt by something that I did. The second one was just too noisy. Guarantee the setup was correct. It was verified three different times. The Yukon is set up perfectly. Breakin was performed to spec. It has a slight whine at 45mph. Probably satisfactory considering that the Chrysler gear set is $900. No flaming allowed by gear professionals. I documented the procedure every step of the way. I spent over $2000 on this project from start to finish. This is not a project for the weak hearted! By the way, I did talk to tech support and was told that it is the cut of the gears and is satisfactory to their specs.

Set up manual is in "Real English".
I am very impressed with the quality of the Yukon Gear product. The setup manual that comes with the set is NOT one of those that has been translated from another language into English. Tip, make sure you take your time. Also, buy an extra inner Pinion Bearing ($12.00) and ream out the inner race just enough to slide on and off the Pinion Shaft. It makes your set up so much easier and is well worth the little extra expense.

Noisy noisy noisy.
I have set up hundreds of gear sets. I’ve used Yukon 20 years ago. Noisy then. A friend says they are good now. I bought a set. Set it up to Yukon specs and right out of the box they are noisy. Called Yukon Custer service and he was not the most pleasant person to talk too. One of the things he did say. “Some gears are just noisy”. That’s BS, the only gears I’ve ever installed that were noisy are Yukon gears. Do yourself a favor and buy Spicer or even Motive gears.

I’ll be back after cleaning it, installing it and running it.Post cleaning edit:It’s not new, so I’ll be returning it.Post Return Edit:I returned it and Amazon status still says waiting for return, yet Canada Post returned it within two days- confirmed.Post, Post Return Edit:Amazon has completed the return. I repurchased the pinion & ring gear (before Amazon acknowledged the return), but this time I received the shipment from Washington state, not an east coast supplier. All is good. I have absolutely zero issues with the pinion & ring gear after install, even though I am still in break-in driving mode for the next several hundred kilometers then an gear oil change and inspection. So, I increased the rating back to 5 stars.

incorrect machining
pinion gear needs to be undercut where the outside pinion bearings seats -- they leave a radius there which does not allow the pinion bearing to seat properly ,, there fore you do not get the proper pinion bearing preload when setting the gears up --- the picture of the gear in the ad shows this area to be undercut but this is not the case with this gear -- I had to machine the gear and modify the pinion bearing to correct this problem.

I RECIEVED THE GEARS WITH OBVIOUS WEAR MARKS THE GEARS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND RUN UNDER LOAD, THEY HAD YELLOW PAINT ON THEM OBVIOUSLY FROM SOMEONE SETTING THEM UP. VERY DISSAPOINTED IN MY PURCHASE FULL REFUND WAS SEEKED
