The lipstick I received is not red at all. Red is my favorite color, which is why I ordered this item. As a result, I am still looking for a red matte long wearing lipstick.

This is my first time trying Red Apple Lipstick and what I love about this product is the clean list of ingredients, which are shown below (copied directly from their website). Upon opening, the color of my lipstick looked different than the website photos—mine appears more reddish brown in my lighting, which is what I would have preferred. However, when it’s on my lips it definitely has a blue/violet undertone and not as neutral as I’d like it. I will say my lips look close to the photos you see in the online listing. I would have to try other shades to see if there’s another one I like better. It does go on fairly smooth, but wouldn’t say it’s super moisturizing or creamy. I will give it 4.5 stars for its staying power though! It does come off when you blot your lips with tissue, but it’s hard to take it all off with just soap and water. You’ll want to use coconut oil or a makeup remover to get it off all the way. So far it’s not drying out my lips, which most lipsticks with good staying power commonly cause. I do love the packaging and the fact that it has a grippy bottom which makes it easy to hold. My only recommendation is to add a tamper evident seal to the box or the lipstick case itself, which mine did not come with. Ingredients: Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii, Synthetic Beeswax, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Tocopheryl Acetate, May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet, Mica, Iron Oxide Key Ingredients: Sunflower Oil gives this lipstick its soft and creamy texture. Vitamin E provides a moisturizing feel, helping lips feel smooth and comfortable. Red Apple Lipstick was one of the first to use Sunflower Oil in lipstick in 2012, setting a high standard for creamy, colorful lipsticks.

I removed one star because I feel that $25 for .16 oz of lipstick is kind of outrageous. With that said, this lipstick is stunning and higher quality. I love that it is Vegan. It's not a true red lipstick which I like because most red lipsticks are "too red" for me. This is kind of a brick color. You can wear a dense coat with super-saturated color pigment, or you can go lighter for a more subdued look. It's not a "longwear" lipstick but it does stick around a fair amount of time in some capacity due to the pigment and color saturation.

Red Apple Lipstick Gluten Free Lipstick | Shade: Appley Ever After. Red Apple lipstick is creamy and highly pigmented color. It goes on smoothly and while it does transfer to drinking glasses it does less than what I would expect. I have a family member that was newly diagnosed with Celiac and has to be gluten free. I never realized how much gluten is in even our makeup and skin care products. Appley Ever After color is beautiful but does have some brown tones to it which I generally try to avoid. This isn't too bad so I will continue to wear it. It is always a challenge buying makeup online to get the right color.
